Emma is a German online mattress brand, and in the UK it is best known for boxed hybrid mattresses sold with a 200-night trial.
Its company page dates the brand to 2015 in Frankfurt, reports “1.5 million sold mattresses in a year” by 2021 and says Emma now trades in more than 25 online markets.
We cover eight of its UK mattresses, in two lines: the Original line from the 22cm Original Lite to the 27cm Original Pro and Elite, and the Performance line with an AirGrid polymer top in 26, 28 and 30cm.

Trial and guarantee
Emma’s trial page gives mattresses 200 nights, toppers 100, pillows 30 and protectors and duvets 14 days, the last only when they come back unused in their packaging.
A returned mattress is collected and refunded in full.
The guarantee page covers mattresses for 10 years, toppers for up to 10 and bed frames for up to two.
The CMA case
The documented weakness is pricing practice.
The Competition and Markets Authority opened an investigation in November 2022, and a High Court order of 22 May 2026 confirmed a settlement in which Emma admitted breaches over countdown timers, “high demand” messages and discount claims, according to the CMA case page.
A judgment of 30 July 2026 made no further findings beyond those admitted breaches.
Announcing the settlement, Hayley Fletcher, the CMA’s Senior Director of Consumer Protection, said: “Businesses should be clear on what the law says: using fake countdown clocks or misleading ‘discounts’ to push people into spending is illegal.” (gov.uk, 28 May 2026).

Who Emma suits
Emma is a good fit if you want a boxed hybrid at a mid-market price with a long, fee-free trial.
The Original Pro ranks first in our double and king size comparisons, and the Performance 26 leads best mattresses 2026.
On toppers, the Original Pro Topper heads our topper ranking, with the cheaper Original Topper in fourth place.
Look elsewhere if you want wool or latex comfort layers, which none of these eight mattresses uses, or a firm mattress: the firmest Emma models we list are rated medium firm.
