Black Friday pillow deals

Black Friday pillow deals are easy to find and hard to judge, because pillows are cheap enough to buy on impulse and many sellers will not take them back once they are out of their packaging. This ranking picks the pillows worth buying in the UK sales by sleeping position, filling, washability and return terms, from adjustable foam and TEMPUR memory foam to budget fibre and body pillows.

Best overall

Simba Hybrid Pillow

The Simba Hybrid Pillow takes the top spot because you can set it up for almost anyone. Take out or add its small foam Nanocubes and the height and firmness change with them, so one pillow can suit a side sleeper and, a few cubes later, a back sleeper.

It costs £109 for one, or £199 for a pair, and Simba gives 30 nights to send it back in its original packaging if you cannot find a setting that suits you.

Pros
  • Height and firmness set by removing cubes
  • Mesh border lets warm air escape
  • Cover zips off for a 40°C wash
Cons
  • Dearest pillow in our top three
  • Finding your setting takes a few nights
  • Inner pillow is spot-clean only

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow
Emma Adapt Cooling PillowEmma Adapt Cooling PillowEmma Adapt Cooling Pillow
Best cooling option

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow

Hot sleepers who lie on their back should start with the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow. Its firm face is a ThermoSync cooling foam, and two of its three foam layers lift out to lower it. It carries Emma's 30-night trial with a full refund, so a wrong height costs you nothing. If you knew it as the Emma Premium Foam Pillow, it is the same design, renamed in January 2026.

Pros
  • Cooling foam on the firm side
  • Two of three layers lift out
  • Firm side and soft side in one
Cons
  • Firm side too firm for front sleepers
  • Foam layers cannot be washed

Emma Adapt Pillow

Best value

Emma Adapt Pillow

For £69, the Emma Adapt Pillow gives you three removable foam layers, two of them memory foam. Emma describes it as its firmest pillow, so it suits side sleepers with broad shoulders who need height that will not collapse overnight. Its visco foam sleeps warmer than the Adapt Cooling, which is the trade-off for the lower price.

Pros
  • Lowest price in Emma's pillow range
  • Cover washes at up to 60°C
  • Three layers come out one by one
Cons
  • Foam core cannot go in the wash
  • Too firm for some sleepers

Emma Comfort Cooling Pillow
Emma Comfort Cooling PillowEmma Comfort Cooling PillowEmma Comfort Cooling Pillow
Best for front sleepers

Emma Comfort Cooling Pillow

Front sleepers need a low, soft pillow, and the Emma Comfort Cooling Pillow is the softest pillow in Emma's UK range. It is filled with microfibre rather than foam, has thinner inner layers you can take out to lower it, and goes in the washing machine whole. An Outlast fabric layer under the cover helps on warm nights.

Pros
  • Whole pillow is machine washable
  • Removable inner layers lower the height
  • Outlast layer for warm nights
Cons
  • Too soft for most side sleepers
  • Less neck support than foam

TEMPUR Original SmartCool Pillow
TEMPUR Original SmartCool PillowTEMPUR Original SmartCool PillowTEMPUR Original SmartCool Pillow
Best for neck support

TEMPUR Original SmartCool Pillow

The TEMPUR Original SmartCool is TEMPUR's best-known ergonomic pillow and the one to look at if you want a TEMPUR in the Black Friday sales. Its moulded memory foam has a high and a low roll and comes in three heights, so you choose by shoulder width rather than by feel.

On 26 October 2026 TEMPUR had it on offer at £149, against a regular £165, which makes it a pillow to buy on a discount rather than at full price.

Pros
  • Three heights for different shoulder widths
  • Holds its shape all night
  • Three-year guarantee
Cons
  • Not suitable for front sleepers
  • Contour takes time to get used to
  • Foam core cannot be washed

Silentnight Body Support Pillow

Best body pillow

Silentnight Body Support Pillow

A body pillow is one of the cheapest sleep upgrades in the sales, and Silentnight's Body Support Pillow, 49.5 x 148cm, costs £27 with a fitted pillowcase included. Hug it lengthways and it stops your top knee dropping when you lie on your side, and Silentnight also suggests it for pregnancy. Being straight, it gives no support behind your back the way a U-shaped pillow does.

Pros
  • Pillowcase included
  • Pillow and case wash at 40°C
  • Also props you up for reading in bed
Cons
  • No support behind the back
  • Takes up a lot of a small double

Best budget pick

Silentnight Airmax Pillow

At £17, or £26 for two, the Silentnight Airmax is the pillow to buy when the budget is tight and you sleep warm on your side, which is who Silentnight designed it for. Mesh side walls let air through the hollowfibre filling, and the whole pillow goes in the washing machine. Treat it as a pillow to replace every year or two.

Pros
  • Mesh side walls for airflow
  • Machine washable, hypoallergenic fill
  • 2-year manufacturer warranty
Cons
  • No return trial stated by Silentnight
  • Fibre flattens faster than foam

Simba AeroDown Pillow

Best down alternative

Simba AeroDown Pillow

Anyone who likes the squash of a down pillow without the feathers should look at the Simba AeroDown. Its recycled fibre clusters feel soft and lofty, it fits a standard 50 x 75cm UK pillowcase, and the whole pillow washes at 40°C. It costs £60, about half the price of the Hybrid at the top of this list, but it cannot be adjusted and lacks the height most side sleepers need.

Pros
  • Cheapest pillow in Simba's range
  • Whole pillow goes in the wash
  • No feathers or down inside
Cons
  • Height cannot be adjusted
  • Cooling finish on one side only

Buying advice

What to look for when buying

“Buy the pillow that matches how you sleep, make sure you can return it, and only then look at the discount.”

Match the pillow to how you sleep

Side sleepers need the most height, enough to fill the gap between shoulder and ear. Back sleepers want a medium height that keeps the chin level, and front sleepers the lowest, softest pillow they can find. An adjustable pillow, with layers or cubes you take out, is the safest sale buy when you are unsure, because you can change the height after it arrives. Check the size too, since most of the head pillows here are smaller than a standard 50 x 75cm UK pillow and sit loosely in a standard case.

Know which cooling claim you are buying

Several pillows on this list are sold on keeping you cool, and they go about it in different ways. The Emma Adapt Cooling uses a cooling foam on its firm face, the Emma Comfort Cooling a temperature-regulating Outlast fabric under its cover, and the Simba Hybrid and Silentnight Airmax let air move through mesh borders. Visco memory foam tends to hold warmth, so a warm sleeper who wants foam support should choose the Adapt Cooling or the Simba Hybrid over the plain Emma Adapt.

Check the returns before you open the packaging

Online purchases normally come with 14 days to cancel, but regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 ends that right for sealed goods “not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery”. The law does not name pillows, but many sellers treat an unwrapped pillow as exactly that and refuse it. Emma, Simba and TEMPUR each give a 30-night pillow trial, which is the real protection in a sale. Simba asks for the pillow back in its original packaging, so keep the box until you have decided. Silentnight states no pillow trial on its product pages.

Know when a pillow is due

A pillow is due when it no longer springs back after you fold it in half, when a fibre filling has gone lumpy, or when you have to fold it to get enough height. Fibre pillows reach that point sooner than foam, so a budget fibre pillow is a short-term buy and a foam or adjustable pillow the better use of a sale discount if you want it to last.

Judge the price per pillow

Many brands sell pillows in pairs, and the second pillow is often where the saving sits, so work out the price per pillow before you compare offers. If you are buying a mattress at the same time, check whether pillows come with it, since Emma was including free pillows, a protector and a duvet with its mattresses when we checked on 26 October.

Spot a real pillow deal

A crossed-out price is only worth something if the seller really charged it. The Advertising Standards Authority’s guidance on savings claims says “the higher reference price should have been charged for a longer duration than the promotional price”, and it expects advertisers to hold at least three months of pricing history, so compare any sale price with the regular prices above. Anthony Screen, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for community safety, put it more bluntly before the November 2025 sales, “if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.” Our Black Friday mattress guide explains how to read a sale price, and our best Black Friday mattress deals apply the same checks to mattresses.

Methodology

How we rate

Every pillow here was in stock on its maker’s UK website when we checked prices on 26 October 2026, and those regular prices are the ones in the table above. We score support, comfort and temperature from the filling, the build and the cover, and value from the price set against the trial and warranty.

The top three are picked by need, the best pillow overall, the best cooling option and the best value, and the rest follow our scores. A trial counts for a lot on pillows. We will update prices and offers here as brands publish their Black Friday terms.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the best pillow to buy on Black Friday?

The Simba Hybrid Pillow is our pick, because its removable foam cubes let you set the height and firmness for your own sleeping position. It costs £109 at its regular price, with a 30-night trial.

Is there a TEMPUR pillow Black Friday sale?

TEMPUR was already showing its Original SmartCool pillow from £149, £16 below its regular price, when we checked on 26 October 2026. Its Black Friday terms had not been announced, and we will add them to this page when they are.

Can I return a pillow bought in a Black Friday sale?

It depends on the seller, because many refuse an unwrapped pillow under the sealed hygiene goods exception in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Emma, Simba and TEMPUR give a 30-night trial on their pillows, so for other brands read the returns terms before you unwrap.

How often should you replace your pillows?

Once a pillow stays bent when you fold it double, its fibre has clumped, or it only gives enough height folded over, it has done its job. Foam pillows usually last longer than fibre ones.

Which pillow is best for side sleepers?

Side sleepers need a high, firm pillow, and the Emma Adapt Pillow at £69 is our value pick, with three removable layers to set the height. The TEMPUR Original SmartCool suits side sleepers who prefer a contoured neck roll.

What size is a standard UK pillow?

A standard UK pillow measures about 50 x 75cm, and some retailers list it as 48 x 74cm. On this list only the Simba AeroDown is that size, while both Emma Adapt pillows measure 40 x 70cm and fit best in a smaller case.

Are pillow pairs better value in the sales?

Usually, since Simba sells two Hybrid Pillows for £199 against £109 for one, and a second Silentnight Airmax adds only £9.
