Black Friday bedding deals

Black Friday bedding deals are easiest to judge on the details a banner leaves out, such as the tog of a duvet, its fill, the fabric and thread count of a cover, and the price in the size you sleep in. Below we rank the duvets and bedding sets worth buying in the sale, from a one-weight budget duvet to two-layer all-season systems, compared as a double so the offers line up. The picks are refreshed as retailers publish their Black Friday prices in November.

Simba Hybrid Duvet

Most people need one duvet that works from October to May, and the Simba Hybrid Duvet is the one we would buy, a 10.5 tog with a recycled-fibre fill and a cotton top side treated with Simba's cooling Stratos finish, at £199 in a double. Square box stitching keeps the fill from drifting, and 18,041 buyers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Simba's site. Choose it over the two-layer duvets below if you want one duvet with nothing to clip or swap.

Pros
  • Recycled-fibre fill
  • Arrives in a reusable storage bag
  • Free next-day delivery
Cons
  • Too warm for summer, no lighter layer

Simba Brushed Tencel Bedding Set
Best set for hot sleepers

Simba Brushed Tencel Bedding Set

Hot sleepers should look at the Tencel set first. Simba says its lyocell wicks moisture and stays cool to the touch, and it brushes the fabric to a soft matt finish that resists creasing, so it needs no ironing. A double set costs £139.

Pros
  • No ironing, resists creasing

Cons
  • Less crisp than cotton percale

Buying advice

What to look for when buying

“A cheap duvet in the wrong tog is the one you replace first, so read the tog and the fill before you read the discount.”

Choose the tog before the deal

A tog measures how well a duvet holds warmth. The textile laboratory IDFL notes that British Standard tog ratings for single-layer duvets run from 4.5 for a summer weight to 15.0 for very cold winters, and that a tog on its own says nothing about quality. The Sleep Charity recommends a bedroom of around 16 to 18°C. In a centrally heated room at that temperature a 10.5 tog covers most of the year, a 4.5 tog is for summer and a 13.5 tog suits cold rooms or people who always feel the cold. A two-layer duvet covers all three weights with one purchase.

Fill, care and allergies

Emma and Simba fill their duvets with recycled polyester and Silentnight its Anti-Allergy duvet with hollowfibre, all suitable if you avoid feather and down. Washing temperatures differ. Emma’s duvet takes up to 60°C, the Simba Hybrid and the Silentnight Anti-Allergy duvet 40°C. A king or super king duvet needs a large drum, so check your machine before you choose the bigger size. If dust mites are the problem, Allergy UK lists the products it endorses on its approved products page.

Duvet covers and bedding sets

The fabric decides how a set feels more than the thread count does. Simba’s three sets come in the same sizes and sit within £30 of each other in a double, so choose by fabric. On 26 October Simba was also clearing two discontinued colourways, Light Cappuccino and Dusty Rose, at less than half the regular price, £45 for a percale double set and £55 for Tencel or Egyptian cotton.

Judging a bedding discount

Bedding discounts are easy to overstate. A clearance colour at half the price the regular colours still sell for is a real saving if you like the colour; a “was” price you never saw charged is not. The double prices in the table were all recorded on 26 October 2026, so compare them with the Black Friday price before you decide a deal is real.

Sizes, timing and returns

UK duvet sizes are not mattress sizes. A double duvet is 200x200 cm for a 135 cm wide bed, a king 220x225 cm and a super king 220x260 cm, although Emma’s super king is 220x240 cm. If you share a double and fight over the covers, buy a king duvet: it hangs about 12 cm further over each side of the bed. Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November.

Bedding bought online normally comes with a 14-day right to cancel, but regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations lets that right lapse for “sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons” once you unseal them. Keep the packaging intact until you are sure. Simba takes bedding back within 30 days and Emma gives its duvets a 14-night trial. If the bed underneath needs replacing too, see our Black Friday bed deals and the Black Friday mattress guide.

Methodology

How we rate

On 26 October 2026 we checked every duvet and bedding set on the maker’s own site for the price of a double (a 200x200 cm duvet or duvet cover), stock, fill, tog, fabric, care instructions and the returns window. Each score weighs comfort features (fill, weave, tog), temperature, build and value. For duvets the deciding facts are tog, fill and how hot they can be washed; for bedding sets, fibre, weave, thread count and certification.

The order follows the score, except that the Emma All Seasons duvet ranks second because it is the cheapest way here to get three warmth levels in one purchase. The offer boxes on the cards show each brand’s current promotion, including discounts open only to key workers, students or other verified groups; we re-check every card between 20 and 24 November and on Black Friday itself.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When are the Black Friday bedding sales in 2026?

Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on 30 November. We re-check the duvets and sets on this page between 20 and 24 November and again on the day.

What tog duvet should I buy?

A 10.5 tog suits most UK bedrooms for most of the year, a 4.5 tog is a summer weight and a 13.5 tog is for cold rooms. If you want all three, the Emma All Seasons Customisable Duvet combines a 3.5 and a 7.0 tog layer for £150 in a double.

What are the best bedding deals right now?

On 26 October the clearest savings were Simba's discontinued colours, with a percale double set at £45. Our top duvet, the Simba Hybrid at £199 for a 10.5 tog double, had no public reduction yet.

Is the Simba 3-in-1 duvet worth more than the Emma All Seasons?

Only if you sleep hot. Both pair a 3.5 tog and a 7.0 tog layer, but the Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 costs £349 in a double and adds a cool-touch Stratos side and modal in the fill, while the Emma has an all-cotton cover.

What size is a king size duvet in the UK?

A UK king size duvet is usually 220x225 cm, for a 150 cm wide king bed, and Simba, Emma and Silentnight all sell that size. Super king duvets measure 220x260 cm at Simba and 220x240 cm at Emma.

Can I return bedding bought in a Black Friday sale?

You can usually cancel an online order within 14 days of delivery, but bedding sealed for hygiene reasons can lose that right once unwrapped. Simba accepts bedding returns within 30 days and Emma gives duvets a 14-night trial.

Is Egyptian cotton better than cotton percale?

Neither is better; they feel different. Percale feels cool and matt, while Egyptian cotton sateen feels silkier and warmer. Simba sells a percale double set for £109 and a 300 thread count Egyptian cotton set for £139.

What is the best duvet for allergy sufferers?

Any synthetic fill avoids feather and down, and the Silentnight Anti-Allergy Duvet adds an Allergy UK Seal of Approval on its hollowfibre filling for £22 in a 10.5 tog double.
