The Simba AeroDown Pillow is a soft, non-adjustable 50 x 75cm pillow filled with down-like clusters of recycled polyester fibre. At £60 it is the cheapest pillow in Simba’s UK range, and the whole thing, filling included, goes in the washing machine.

From Stratos Pillow to AeroDown

If you knew this pillow as the Simba Stratos Pillow, you have found the right one. Simba’s old Stratos Pillow address now forwards to the AeroDown page. The idea is the same: a cotton cover treated with Simba’s Stratos cool-touch finish over a fibre filling.

Build and feel

Simba’s product page describes the filling as Simba Renew Bio, clusters that include fibres from recycled plastic bottles and are meant to mimic down. The cover is cotton, quilted in squares, with the Stratos treatment on one side only, so it is worth turning the treated side up if you sleep warm. Simba rates the feel soft to medium, and we put it at 4 out of 10. Fibre clusters compress under a head and fluff back up when shaken, which gives a cushioned, sinking feel rather than firm support.

That suits back sleepers who like their head cradled and front sleepers, who need a lower and softer pillow anyway. Side sleepers usually need a firmer, taller pillow to fill the space between shoulder and ear, and the AeroDown cannot be topped up. On 8 October 2026 it carried 4.4 out of 5 from 1,851 reviews on Simba’s shop, the lowest rating among its pillows, which matches what you would expect from a soft fixed-loft pillow judged by every kind of sleeper.

Washing, and what it means for allergies

Simba says the pillow can be machine washed at 40°C on a delicates cycle and tumble dried on low, then shaken to spread the filling again. Being able to wash the whole pillow, not just a cover, is the AeroDown’s strongest practical point. If you have a house dust mite allergy, know the limit: Cambridge University Hospitals NHS advice is to wash bedding, pillows included, at 60°C, and notes that a cooler wash only partly kills the mites (CUH guidance on dust mites at home). At 40°C the AeroDown therefore needs an allergy-proof pillow cover as well, or the hospital’s alternative of 12 hours in the freezer once a month.

Price and returns

We checked the price on 8 October 2026: £60 with no struck-through figure, and free next-day delivery to most UK postcodes when you order before 1pm. Because it is not a mattress, it falls under Simba’s standard 30-day return rather than the 200-night trial. It fits a standard UK pillowcase exactly, which neither the Hybrid (45 x 70cm) nor the HeatRelease (41 x 61cm) does.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The AeroDown is the Simba pillow to buy if you sleep on your back or front and want a soft, fully washable pillow at a sensible price. Its soft-to-medium fill sinks under a heavy head and cannot be topped up, so side sleepers with broad shoulders get better value from the Hybrid despite the higher price. Simba's shop showed it at 4.4 out of 5 from 1,851 reviews in October 2026, the lowest score among its pillows.”
