Best Nectar mattresses

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is the best Nectar mattress for most UK adults, and the Classic Hybrid is the cheapest way to get Nectar's pocket springs. Nectar sells four adult mattresses in the UK, all-foam or hybrid in a 25cm Classic or 28cm Premier build, rated 5 to 7 on its own 10-point firmness scale and sold with the same 365-night trial and Forever Warranty, so construction, depth, feel and the price in your size decide the choice.

Kaufberatung

Worauf Sie beim Kauf achten sollten

„Most adults shopping Nectar should start with the two hybrids, since pocket springs add only £50 to the price of the matching all-foam model in a double. Pay for a Premier only if the extra 3cm of depth or back-sleeper support matters to you, and read the warranty's 4cm indentation rule before you count on it.“

The Nectar range side by side

Nectar’s UK line-up is two memory foam mattresses and two hybrids, each in a Classic (25cm) and a Premier (28cm) version, plus one reversible kids mattress. The table joins Nectar’s published specifications and sleep-position advice with our price check.

Model Construction Depth (cm) Layers Nectar firmness (1 to 10) Nectar recommends for UK sizes Weight, double (kg)

Prices per UK size, as listed by Nectar on 28 September 2026 before any checkout promotion, are below. The two Premier models cost the same in a king and a super king, so from a king upwards the choice between Premier foam and Premier springs costs nothing extra.

Memory foam or hybrid

The Nectar hybrids put steel pocket springs under the foam, and Nectar says the open coils let more air through and keep the bed cooler. That is Nectar’s own claim rather than a measured result. Only the Premier Hybrid’s spring layer is described with added structure around the edges, which helps if you sit on the side of the bed to dress. The all-foam models suit a restless partner better, because foam generally absorbs movement instead of carrying it across a spring unit. Our best memory foam mattresses comparison ranks all-foam models across brands.

How firm each Nectar feels

Nectar rates its mattresses from 1 (marshmallow) to 10 (floor), so a higher number means a firmer bed, the opposite of the European H(s) scale used in research, where 1.0 is the firmest. In a randomised trial of 313 adults with chronic low-back pain published in The Lancet (Kovacs et al., 2003), people given a medium-firm mattress had better outcomes for pain in bed after 90 days than those on a firm one (odds ratio 2.36). A 2021 review of 39 studies in the Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology reached the same conclusion for comfort, sleep quality and spinal alignment. Three of the four adult Nectars sit in that medium-firm band at 6 to 7, yet Nectar recommends only the two Premier models for back and front sleepers. It lists the Classic Memory Foam (6.5) and the softer Classic Hybrid (5) for side and combination sleepers, so a back sleeper on a Classic budget is buying outside Nectar’s own advice.

Classic or Premier

The Premier versions are 3cm deeper, carry four CertiPUR-certified foam layers instead of three, and use a cover that Nectar says has 40% more cooling fibres than the Classic range. EUROPUR, which runs the CertiPUR scheme in Europe, has certified foams retested every year by independent laboratories, so the label covers what goes into the foam, not how it feels. The upgrade costs £649 against £449 for an all-foam double, and neither Premier comes in a small double. Measure the doorway and stairs too, since the Premier Hybrid weighs 53.9kg in a super king.

What the trial and Forever Warranty cover

Nectar’s returns terms start the 365-night trial on the day of delivery but ask you to keep the mattress for a 30-night adjustment period before a return. Collection is free, and the refund is the unit price less any discount or promotional items that came with the order. The Forever Warranty replaces a defective mattress for the first 10 years and repairs or replaces it after that, with a £65 transport charge each way that Nectar waives once it confirms a defect. It covers only the original buyer on the UK mainland and only mattresses bought directly from Nectar, which matters because Nectar also sells through partner bed shops. A sag counts as a defect only when the visible indentation is greater than 4cm, and on a slatted base the slats must be at least 5cm wide with gaps of no more than 9cm. Stains and liquid damage are excluded, so a protector such as the Nectar Mattress Protector (from £39) is worth adding; our best mattress protectors page compares others.

Those rules explain most of the complaints. On Trustpilot, Nectar Sleep scored 3.5 out of 5 from 15,025 reviews on 28 September 2026, with 71% of reviews at five stars and 10% at one star, and Trustpilot’s summary of recent reviews names sagging after a relatively short time and warranty claims refused under wear-and-tear rules as the main complaints. Nectar’s product pages give no rotation schedule, and each adult model sits on a non-slip base layer, so it is one-sided. For that case the National Bed Federation’s Bed Advice UK service tells owners to “rotate it weekly in the first three months and monthly thereafter”, the cheapest protection against the dips owners report.

For the rest of the market, see our best mattresses of 2026, or compare Nectar with the Emma, Simba, Origin and OTTY ranges.

Methodik

So bewerten wir

This ranking covers only the mattresses Nectar sells on its UK website today. On 28 September 2026 we checked each model’s product page, its size and weight table, Nectar’s own comparison of firmness and recommended sleep positions, and the live price of every size variant; all listed sizes were in stock. The Essential Hybrid is not ranked, because Nectar no longer lists it and its old product page returns a 404, which leaves the Classic Hybrid as the entry-level hybrid.

Every product on Sleep Magazine is scored with one rubric, weighted 30% comfort, 25% support, 15% temperature and 30% value, where value sets the price in each UK size against the trial and warranty. Within one brand those service terms are identical (365 nights, Forever Warranty, free named-day delivery), so the differences on this page come from construction, depth, Nectar’s 1 to 10 firmness rating, the sleep positions Nectar recommends and the price per size. The ranks follow the overall scores. Ranks 2 to 4 sit within a point or two of each other, so the tables in the buying guide show which of them suits which sleeper.

Our assessment rests on verified manufacturer specifications, Nectar’s published trial and warranty terms, owner reviews on Trustpilot and our own price checks.

FAQ

Häufige Fragen

Which Nectar mattress is best?

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is the best Nectar mattress overall, with 8 layers in a 28cm build, micro-springs over pocket springs and a 7 out of 10 firmness rating, and it is one of only two Nectars the brand recommends for side, back and front sleepers alike. It costs £699 in a double. On a tighter budget the Classic Hybrid gives you pocket springs for £499 in the same size, though Nectar lists it for side and combination sleepers.

Is the Nectar memory foam mattress any good?

The Nectar Classic Memory Foam is a sound budget all-foam mattress, 25cm deep with five layers and a 6.5 out of 10 medium-firm feel, from £199 in a single. It carries three CertiPUR-certified foam layers over a seven-zone castellated base, and it is the cheapest adult Nectar in a single or double. The Premier Memory Foam adds 3cm of depth and a 12-zone base for a higher price.

What is the difference between the Nectar Classic and Premier?

The Nectar Premier models are 28cm deep against 25cm for the Classic, with one more layer in the foam version and two more in the hybrid. Nectar also gives the Premier covers 40% more cooling fibres and prices them higher, £649 against £449 for an all-foam double. Neither Premier model is sold as a small double.

What happened to the Nectar Essential Hybrid?

Nectar no longer sells the Essential Hybrid in the UK, and its old product page returned a 404 when we checked on 28 September 2026. The Nectar Classic Hybrid is now the entry-level hybrid, a 25cm mattress with a 15cm pocket-spring unit at £499 in a double. Older reviews of the Essential Hybrid do not apply to it.

What are the most common Nectar mattress complaints?

The most common Nectar complaints are mattresses that sag after a relatively short time and warranty claims that are refused, according to the Trustpilot summary of recent reviews, where Nectar Sleep held a score of 3.5 out of 5 from 15,025 reviews on 28 September 2026. Nectar's Forever Warranty treats a sag as a defect only when the indentation is greater than 4cm, and slatted bases must have slats at least 5cm wide with gaps of 9cm or less. Stains are excluded, and the warranty covers only mattresses bought directly from Nectar, not from a partner shop.

How long does a Nectar mattress last?

A Nectar mattress should be replaced when it no longer supports you, and the National Bed Federation's Bed Advice UK suggests reviewing any mattress older than 7 to 10 years. Nectar's Forever Warranty replaces a defective mattress free of charge for the first 10 years and repairs or replaces it after that. Nectar gives no rotation schedule, so follow the Bed Advice UK routine for one-sided mattresses: rotate it weekly for the first three months, then monthly.

Is there a Nectar mattress discount code?

On 28 September 2026 the Nectar UK site advertised 60% off mattresses at checkout in a site-wide banner, rather than a code shown on the product pages. The prices on this page are Nectar's listed prices before that promotion, such as £749 for a Premier Hybrid king. Current codes are tracked on our Nectar brand page.

How much is a Nectar king size mattress?

A Nectar king size mattress (150x200) costs £549 for either Classic model and £749 for either Premier model, at Nectar's listed prices on 28 September 2026. All four adult Nectar mattresses are sold in a king, and each comes with free named-day delivery.
