The Nectar Classic Hybrid Mattress is a 25cm hybrid that sets memory foam over a 15cm unit of individually wrapped pocket springs, and at 5 out of 10 it is the softest adult mattress in Nectar’s range. It is the one to choose if you change position through the night or want more airflow than the all-foam Classic, and a single costs £299.

What is inside the Nectar Classic Hybrid

According to Nectar’s Classic Hybrid product page, the build runs:

  1. a soft cooling cover;
  2. pressure-relieving memory foam;
  3. a breathable dynamic support foam;
  4. a 15cm unit of encapsulated pocket springs that compress independently;
  5. a sturdy base foam;
  6. a non-slip layer.

Nectar says its mattresses are made in Derbyshire. The three foam layers are CertiPUR certified; under EUROPUR’s CertiPUR scheme the foams of label holders are retested every year by independent laboratories. Nectar lists no zoning for the springs, unlike the seven-zone base of the Classic Memory Foam.

Sizes, weights and prices

UK size Dimensions (cm) Weight Price
Single 90 x 190 x 25 19.0kg £299
Small double 120 x 190 x 25 25.7kg £499
Double 135 x 190 x 25 28.9kg £499
King 150 x 200 x 25 33.2kg £549
Super king 180 x 200 x 25 39.4kg £599

Prices are Nectar’s regular prices at the time of writing (September 2026). The super king is only a small step up from the king, and every size is lighter than the matching Classic Memory Foam, which helps if you are carrying it up narrow stairs.

Feel: softer than the rest of the range

Nectar calls the feel medium, 5 out of 10: the memory foam gives the first layer of pressure relief and the springs push back underneath. That forgiving balance works for most side and back sleepers. It is softer than the medium-firm band that back-pain research favours, though. A systematic review of 24 controlled trials in Sleep Health (Radwan et al., 2015) concluded that a mattress rated medium-firm and custom inflated (self-adjusted) was optimal for sleep comfort, quality and spinal alignment, so heavier sleepers and anyone with low-back pain should weigh the firmer Premier Hybrid.

Temperature and couples

Air moves more freely through a coil unit than through solid foam, and Nectar says the Classic Hybrid carries MTick certification for menopause-friendly products. That is relevant to a lot of buyers: the NHS page on menopause symptoms notes that sleep problems may be worse if you also have night sweats. Keep expectations modest, though, because the memory foam layer still sits directly under the cover. The wrapped springs move independently, but an all-foam mattress still isolates a restless partner a little better.

Trial, warranty and care

You get a 365-night home trial, free named-day delivery and the Forever Warranty, which replaces a faulty mattress in the first ten years. The Classic Hybrid is one-sided, and for non-turn mattresses the National Bed Federation advises you to rotate it weekly for the first three months and monthly after that to limit body impressions.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“For most people shopping the Nectar range, the Classic Hybrid is the sensible first choice, since the 15cm spring unit adds airflow and bounce the Classic Memory Foam lacks for a modest premium. Heavier sleepers and anyone with low-back pain should weigh the firmer Premier Hybrid.”
