Origin is a mattress brand founded in 2018 that sells pocket sprung hybrids online in the UK. Its British trading company, Origin Sleep UK Ltd, was incorporated at Companies House on 30 July 2021 with a registered office in Covent Garden, London. The Origin company page says its core design work is done in the UK, lists seven countries of incorporation from the United States to Taiwan and gives a headcount of 50 employees. It does not say where the mattresses are manufactured.

The Origin range and what it costs

The UK line-up is three hybrids, plus clearance stock of the two cheaper ones in their earlier version with a fixed cover instead of the current zip-off top. Every mattress comes with a 200-night home trial, a 15-year warranty and free next-day delivery to the UK mainland, as the Origin Hybrid product page states.

Prices were checked in September 2026 and can move quickly: at the time of writing Origin was adding free pillows to orders rather than cutting the mattress price.

Where Origin fits

The Origin Hybrid, which we grade medium firm, is the one to pick if you like a firmer surface at a mid-market price. The 35cm LumbarCloud is the softest of the three in our grading and the deepest, but it costs about three times as much in a double, so it only makes sense if you want that extra depth and a softer feel. Buyers who want to know exactly where and by whom a mattress is made will not get that answer from Origin’s own pages.
