The OTTY Original Ice Hybrid is the Original Hybrid with a different cover, a knitted OTTY Ice cover containing cooling fibres. Underneath it keeps the same 25cm, 7/10 medium-firm build with up to 2,000 encapsulated pocket springs, and it costs from £524.99 for a single and £674.99 for a double (September 2026).
According to the OTTY product page, the Ice cover is a thick knit with special cooling fibres that OTTY says actively help regulate your temperature, and unlike the Original’s dry-clean-only cover it is removable and machine washable. The foam layers, spring unit and side supports are the same, so support and firmness do not change.

No independent test of the Ice cover has been published, so what is on record concerns the shared construction. In The Guardian’s review of the Original (March 2025), Jane Hoskyn found with a heat pad and thermometer that it cooled down faster than rivals containing more foam, including the Simba Hybrid Pro and Eve Wunderflip Hybrid. The Ice is OTTY’s answer for people who found the Original warm, and it puts the cooling fibres in the part of the mattress you touch first.
The Ice is aimed at back sleepers, front sleepers and couples who like the Original’s 7/10 support but sleep warm, and for anyone who wants a cover they can put in the washing machine. Light side sleepers will find 7/10 on the firm side, as with the Original.

The Ice comes in five UK sizes including a small double, but not the EU sizes or Emperor sold with the Original. For a warm sleeper unsure whether a cover alone will be enough, the 100-night trial is the safety net: under OTTY’s returns terms OTTY collects a returned mattress free of charge and refunds the price within 14 days of receiving it, less a £40 cleaning fee if it comes back stained. The 10-year guarantee and free two-person delivery to mainland UK addresses match the Original.
