OTTY Pure Hybrid Bamboo Mattress with Charcoal reviewed

The OTTY Pure Hybrid Bamboo Mattress with Charcoal is a 25cm hybrid that keeps the Original Hybrid’s 2,000-spring unit and swaps its comfort foams for memory foam infused with bamboo and charcoal. OTTY rates it 6.5 out of 10, a touch softer than the Original’s 7, and it starts at £524.99 for a single and £649.99 for a double (September 2026).

Construction

The OTTY product page lists six layers. The embroidered cover itself holds 2cm of bamboo and charcoal memory foam, and it is removable and washable, unlike the dry-clean cover on the Original. The springs, reflex foam and base are the same as the Original’s, so the difference you feel comes from the top two layers.

Temperature

OTTY says the bamboo and charcoal wick away moisture and absorb odours, and describes the mattress as antibacterial and hypoallergenic; those are manufacturer claims. The spring core and the Airflow side supports are shared with the Original, so for a warm sleeper the practical differences are the bamboo and charcoal comfort foams and a cover you can wash.

Who it suits

At 6.5 out of 10, the Pure suits back sleepers, combination sleepers and side sleepers of average weight who find 7/10 slightly too hard. Couples get the same individually wrapped 16cm springs as in the Original. Lighter side sleepers who want more sink at the shoulder should look at the Pure+ at 5.5 out of 10, and people over about 15 stone at the Extra Firm.
