OTTY Aura Hybrid Mattress reviewed

The OTTY Aura Hybrid is the cheapest mattress in the OTTY range, a 23cm hybrid with up to 1,000 encapsulated pocket springs, priced from £349.99 for a single and £424.99 for a double (September 2026). OTTY rates it 6 out of 10, medium-firm, in the product headline and 6.5 in its FAQ.

Construction

OTTY describes the Aura as the Original’s technology in a thinner, more affordable model. Its product page lists the same 16cm spring height as the Original, with up to half the spring count and 2cm less depth. The saving comes from three places: half the springs, 2cm less foam and four sizes instead of the Original’s nine.

Who it suits

Spare rooms, first flats and buyers for whom the budget matters more than depth are where the Aura makes sense; OTTY itself pitches it at younger sleepers and guest rooms. With up to 1,000 springs against the Original’s 2,000, a double has fewer support points, so heavier sleepers and couples with a large weight difference will get more from the Original or the Pure. The washable cover is a genuine advantage over the dry-clean-only Original. On feel, OTTY gives the Aura 6 out of 10 in its headline and 6.5 in its FAQ, so expect it to be a shade softer than the 7/10 Original, with foam side supports that widen the usable sleeping area.

The Aura is sold in the four standard UK sizes only, with no small double or EU sizes. Handles on the underside of the cover help with the monthly head-to-toe rotation OTTY asks for in the first year. Being the cheapest model does not cut the terms: the 100-night trial (minimum 30 nights before a return), the 10-year guarantee and free two-person delivery to mainland UK addresses are the same as on the Original.
