Firmness: Medium softThe Hypnos Legacy Origins III is a 30cm turnable mattress with two spring layers and RWS wool, Himalayan allo and kapok fillings.
The Hypnos Legacy Origins III is a 30cm double-sided mattress that pairs eight-turn ReActivePro pocket springs with an extra layer of Adaptiv comfort springs and fillings of RWS wool, Himalayan allo, kapok and cotton. Best Price Beds lists a double at £1,969 (September 2026), and at the time of writing its Hypnos autumn sale takes that down to £1,765.
Of all the Hypnos models in our comparisons, this is the one built around unusual natural fibres. The Hypnos specification describes Himalayan allo as a nettle fibre sourced from subsistence farmers in the Nepalese foothills, combined with silk-like kapok and responsibly sourced cotton, plus British wool certified to the Responsible Wool Standard. The sleep surface is a Belgian damask viscose that meets fire regulations with natural additives rather than synthetic flame retardants, and three rows of hand side-stitching finish the border. Best Price Beds adds a spring count: 1,400 eight-turn springs plus two layers of 700 mini springs, one on each face, in a 150cm king.

Hypnos lists medium, firmer and extra firm spring tensions, and describes the first two as feeling medium and medium firm. We score the medium version at 5 out of 10, a sensible middle for back sleepers and couples. According to Hypnos, the Good Housekeeping Institute recognised the Legacy Origins III for a second year running in 2025, naming it best luxury mattress. The weight is moderate for a turnable Hypnos, 35.0kg in king, which matters because the Hypnos FAQ asks for seasonal-turn mattresses to be turned and rotated every three to four months.
Best Price Beds adds a 40-night sleep trial, but read the terms before relying on it. It is an exchange for another mattress of the same size, requested between night 30 and night 40, with a £69 collection fee, no refund, and it only applies if you buy a mattress protector or take one as the free gift. The 10-year Hypnos guarantee covers the mattress itself.

“The Legacy Origins III is the Hypnos to choose if natural, traceable materials matter as much to you as comfort, with allo, kapok and RWS wool over two layers of springs. It is expensive and needs turning with the seasons, so if you want a lower-maintenance Hypnos look at the Luxury No Turn 8.”Go to shop →
