The Hypnos Cotton Origins 6 is a 26cm no-turn pocket sprung mattress with cotton-rich comfort layers and a single fleece of British wool, and it is the least expensive Hypnos in our comparisons at £999 for a double at Bed Factory Direct (September 2026). It uses the same six-turn ReActivePro spring unit with Triple Edge Protection as the Wool Origins 6, but it is single-sided, so you rotate it rather than flip it.

The Hypnos specification lists responsibly sourced cotton, one fleece of 100% British wool traceable to Red Tractor assured farms, Swaledale wool, a Solotex fibre layer and an eOlus comfort pad made from recycled water bottles. The damask sleep surface is woven from unbleached cotton and viscose and meets furniture fire regulations without synthetic flame retardants. Hypnos describes cotton as a breathable fibre that helps keep heat away from the body, which is why this range suits people who find wool-heavy mattresses too cosy. When the Origins collection launched, Farming UK reported that Cotton Origins mattresses can hold as much as 4.5kg of sustainably sourced cotton.

There is one spring tension, which Hypnos calls medium, and we score it 5 out of 10. That makes it an easy recommendation for back sleepers and for couples who disagree on softness, while lighter side sleepers may want the thicker cushioning of a Wool Origins or Pillow Top model. Hypnos gives the king size as 34.0kg, the lightest of the Origins mattresses in our comparisons, and not having to flip it is a real advantage in a guest room or for anyone who cannot lift a heavy mattress.

Two limits are worth knowing. You cannot choose a firmer tension, and the comfort layers are thinner than on the Wool Origins models, so the surface feels more supportive than plush.
