The Simba Hybrid Pro is a 28cm, eight-layer hybrid mattress that puts up to 3,800 titanium-alloy Aerocoil microsprings on top of a SupportCore base of up to 1,000 tempered steel barrel springs, for up to 4,800 springs in a king. Simba describes the feel as medium-firm, which we place at 6 out of 10, and the regular price starts at £899 for a single.

What is inside the Simba Hybrid Pro?

The layer order below comes from the technical specification on Simba’s UK product page. Spring counts are quoted for a king, so a single has fewer.

Layer Material What it does
1. Cover 530g knitted polyester, Stratos treatment, zip-off top Washable at 40°C; a 133g inner cover protects the layers while it is off
2. Comfort British wool Absorbs moisture and adds airflow
3. Comfort Simbatex foam with graphite Open-structure cushioning above the springs
4 and 5. Microsprings Two layers of 25mm conical Aerocoil springs, up to 3,800 Contour to shoulders and hips, limit motion transfer
6. Core CertiPUR foam Stability and airflow
7. Base springs SupportCore, up to 1,000 steel barrel springs Firm edges with no roll-off
8. Base High-density CertiPUR foam Foundation for the spring unit

How firm is it, and who is it for?

Medium-firm is the band the clinical evidence favours for most adults. In a randomised trial of 313 people with chronic low-back pain published in The Lancet (Kovacs et al., 2003), those given a medium-firm mattress had 2.36 times the odds of improvement in pain while lying in bed after 90 days compared with those given a firm one. The Hybrid Pro sits in that band, and the steel base keeps the perimeter firm enough to sit on, which matters for couples who use the full width. Back sleepers and heavier sleepers get the most from the third spring layer. Lighter side sleepers who want a softer top are better served by the Hybrid Luxe.

Does the Simba Hybrid Pro sleep cool?

The build is designed to. A layer of British wool sits under the cover to absorb moisture, and the graphite Simbatex foam and two open layers of microsprings let air move through the mattress rather than trapping it the way a solid foam block does. Simba also sells a HeatRelease version with graphite strips; the “up to 4.4°C cooler” figure Simba quotes comes from a laboratory test it cites on the upper foam layer of the Hybrid Ultra, so treat it as a manufacturer claim rather than a measurement of the Pro.

Simba Hybrid Pro prices by size

Regular prices for the standard version at the time of writing (September 2026). Simba runs frequent sales, so the checkout price is often lower, and HeatRelease adds £149 to £249 depending on size.

Size Dimensions (cm) Regular price
Single 90 x 190 £899
Small double 120 x 190 £1,299
Double 135 x 190 £1,299
King 150 x 200 £1,399
Super king 180 x 200 £1,499
EU double 140 x 200 £1,299

Every foam layer is certified to CertiPUR, the EUROPUR programme that requires foam made without heavy metals such as mercury, lead or cadmium and with low VOC emissions, backed by yearly control tests. Delivery is free to most of the UK, the trial runs for 200 nights with free collection, and the 10-year guarantee covers manufacturing faults. The practical drawback is weight: Simba itself recommends delivery to the room of your choice.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“We recommend the Hybrid Pro to couples and back sleepers who want firm edges and a cool surface, because its 1,000-spring steel base is exactly what the cheaper Hybrid lacks. Lighter side sleepers who like a plush top will prefer the Luxe, and tighter budgets get the same Aerocoil idea in the Hybrid for about 30% less in a double.”
