Kaymed Regu­latex Bali 2000 reviewed

The Kaymed Regulatex Bali 2000 is a 27cm medium-feel hybrid that places a deep layer of natural latex, infused with graphite, over a pocket spring unit equivalent to 2,000 springs in a king size. It is made in Ireland by Kaymed and sold in Britain through independent bed retailers such as M6 Beds, whose listing we use for price and specification.

Construction

Regulatex is Kaymed’s name for latex with graphite added. Stockists such as North Wales Beds carry the brand’s description of a natural latex layer with highly conductive graphite that acts as a thermal pathway, spreading excess heat away from the sleeping surface. That targets a real problem: a 2012 review in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology (Okamoto-Mizuno and Mizuno) found that heat exposure during sleep increases wakefulness and reduces slow-wave and REM sleep. Kaymed publishes no temperature data, and it does not state the thickness of the latex layer, which is the main gap in an otherwise clear specification.

Feel and who it suits

M6 Beds rates the Bali 2000 medium, which we record as 5 out of 10, and Smiths the Rink describes it as slightly softer and more adaptable than the higher spring count models in the same range. Latex pushes back faster than memory foam, so you move easily and do not feel stuck, while the pocket springs keep partner movement local. Combination sleepers who change position through the night are the natural fit. One caution: NHS advice on allergic rhinitis lists latex among the common allergy triggers, so check with the retailer if you have a latex allergy.

The Bali 2000 within the Regulatex range

The Bali 2000 is the middle of three Regulatex Bali models that M6 Beds lists on its Kaymed page. Each step up adds 400 springs and costs £100 more in a single.

If you want a softer surface at the shoulder, the 1600 is the cheaper route; the 2400 keeps the medium feel and adds a latex pillowtop. Prices for the other two models are M6 Beds figures at the time of writing (September 2026).

Kaymed has no online shop of its own, and its stockists set their own delivery terms; M6 Beds quotes 6 to 8 weeks for delivery and states no sleep trial. Kaymed is on the National Bed Federation member list, and M6 Beds says its 10-year guarantee, listed as 5 plus 5, applies across the whole Kaymed mattress range.
