Kaymed is an Irish mattress brand made by Kayfoam Woolfson in Dublin and Kilcullen, County Kildare, and known in the UK for temperature-regulating foam mattresses and Regulatex latex hybrids sold through bed retailers. Kayfoam Woolfson was established more than a century ago by William Woolfson. Since June 2021 it has belonged to the US components group Leggett & Platt, which paid $119 million (€101.2 million) in cash, according to The Irish Times. The same report puts the workforce at more than 300 and says the business is focused on the British and Irish markets.

On its National Bed Federation member profile Kaymed describes itself as the only foam manufacturer in Ireland, and its about page says its visco-elastic and gel materials are also used in medical mattresses for pressure-sensitive patients. Both are the company’s own statements. In Britain Kaymed sells only through retailers, from independent bed shops to Furniture Village, which carries the ClimaCool range as an exclusive.

The Kaymed Regulatex Bali 2000 puts a layer of natural latex with conductive graphite over 2,000 pocket springs (king size count) with foam-encased edges. M6 Beds lists it with a 10-year guarantee, and it ranks seventh in our best latex mattresses comparison. The cooling effect of the graphite is Kaymed’s claim, and we found no published measurement that backs it up.

Who Kaymed suits

Kaymed suits buyers who want to lie on a mattress in a local showroom, value a 10-year guarantee and like the springier feel of latex over pocket springs. It is harder to recommend if you prefer to buy online with a home trial, because Kaymed publishes no trial of its own, or if your budget stops well short of four figures: the Bali 2000 costs more than £1,000 even as a single.
