The Eve Original Hybrid Mattress is a 25cm hybrid that puts the Original’s evecomfort and memory foam layers on top of more than 800 full-height 12cm pocket springs, with a medium-firm feel and four UK sizes from £699 for a single. For most buyers it is the most sensible way into the Eve range, because the springs add airflow, bounce and edge support that an all-foam mattress cannot.

Construction, top to bottom

Layer What Eve uses What it does
Top cover Moisture-wicking panel, zip-off and washable Keeps the surface dry and can be cleaned
evecomfort layer Springy, breathable foam Support at the surface, less sink than pure memory foam
Memory layer Memory foam Pressure relief at shoulders and hips
Support layer Foam casing around the springs Protects the springs and firms up the sides
Spring unit Over 800 individually pocketed 12cm springs Responds point by point and limits partner movement
Extra support 3.5cm foam layer Stabilises the base of the spring unit
Sides and base Polyester fabric Breathable, hard-wearing outer

All of that comes from Eve’s product page. The springs are the difference that matters. Individually pocketed springs move independently, so a partner turning over at 3am is felt less than on a single block of foam.

Firmness

Eve says “as with all of our eve mattresses” the Original Hybrid is medium-firm. The Lancet trial by Kovacs et al. (2003), which followed 313 adults with chronic low back pain for 90 days, found medium-firm mattresses improved pain in bed and disability compared with firm ones. Back sleepers, couples and side sleepers of average weight are the target. Very light side sleepers may find the top firmer than they expect.

Sizes and regular prices

UK size Dimensions (cm) Regular price at Eve
Single 90 x 190 £699
Double 135 x 190 £849
King 150 x 200 £949
Super king 180 x 200 £1,049

There is no small double. At the time of writing (September 2026) Eve was selling it at 40% off until 29 September; the table shows the regular prices. Eve’s shop lists 4.5 out of 5 from 568 reviews.

Trial and warranty

You get Eve’s 200-night trial, with free returns in the first 40 nights and a collection fee after that, and a 10-year warranty. Delivery is vacuum-packed and free to most of the UK, with some areas charged at checkout. The weak point is spring count, as the Premium Hybrid has over 1,400 springs to this model’s 800-plus.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Eve Original Hybrid is the Eve most couples should start with, adding over 800 pocket springs to the Original's foams for better airflow and edge support. Pay more for the Premium Hybrid only if you want deeper cushioning and graphite-infused foams.”
