The DreamCloud Hybrid is a 25cm, five-layer hybrid mattress that puts memory foam over a 15cm unit of pocket springs with a reinforced edge, and DreamCloud rates it 5 out of 10, a medium feel. It is the cheaper of the two mattresses DreamCloud sells in the UK, from £349 for a single, with the same 365-night home trial and Forever Warranty as the Luxury Hybrid.

What is inside the DreamCloud Hybrid?

Layer What DreamCloud says it does
1. Quilted cover, polyester and rayon blend Stitched channels to release heat, soft surface
2. Dream Plush breathable memory foam Contours to the body to relieve pressure
3. Transition foam Smooths the step from the comfort layer to the springs
4. Reinforced-edge pocket spring unit, 15cm Support, less motion transfer, a firmer edge
5. Non-slip base Stops the mattress creeping on the bed base

Layer names and functions come from DreamCloud’s UK product page, and the foams carry CertiPUR certification. The Luxury Hybrid adds a support foam layer and 3cm of depth, and DreamCloud says it holds 33% more memory foam.

How does it feel?

We keep DreamCloud’s own 5 out of 10 on our 1 to 10 scale. DreamCloud recommends the Hybrid for back, side and combination sleepers but not for front or stomach sleepers, who are better served by the firmer Luxury Hybrid. The memory foam lets shoulders and hips sink in a little while the springs keep the spine level, and because each spring is wrapped and moves on its own, a partner turning over travels less across the bed. There is no dedicated cooling layer beyond the channel-quilted cover, so warm sleepers should not expect a cool-to-the-touch surface.

Trial, warranty and delivery

The 365-night trial starts on delivery. DreamCloud suggests 30 nights to adjust and collects a returned mattress free of charge. Under the Forever Warranty a defective mattress is replaced with a new one in the first 10 years and repaired, re-covered or replaced after that, with a £65 transport charge each way in those later years that DreamCloud waives once it confirms a defect. Body impressions of 4cm or less do not count as defects, and the cover applies only to the original buyer. Named-day delivery is free, while removal of your old mattress with delivery to the room of your choice costs £60.

Unser Urteil

Fazit
„The DreamCloud Hybrid is a sound, fairly priced pocket-spring hybrid with some of the most generous trial and warranty terms in the UK. Buy it if you sleep on your back or side and want a medium feel; if you need a small double or run hot, look elsewhere.“
