Sleepeezee Natural 2000 Pocket Latex Ortho Mattress reviewed

The Sleepeezee Natural 2000 Pocket Latex Ortho is a medium-firm, 30 cm hybrid that layers 20 mm of natural Talalay latex and British wool over 2,000 pocket springs. Part of Sleepeezee’s Eezee collection, it is made in the UK with a 10-year guarantee and sold by MattressNextDay from £749 in a single and £899 in a double at the time of writing (September 2026).

Seven layers, two of them natural

Sleepeezee’s own layer diagram for the Natural 2000 lists seven components. The spring system is two-tier, 1,000 mini comfort springs over 1,000 traditional pocket springs, and the comfort stack pairs a thin sheet of latex with British wool. Latex responds faster than memory foam and pushes back rather than letting the body sink, while the wool layer and hand tufting give the surface a traditional, breathable finish. The mattress is single-sided and hypoallergenic according to the retailer.

Firmness and who it suits

MattressNextDay rates the Natural 2000 as medium-firm, which we place at 6 out of 10, and that is the firmness band with the strongest evidence for back comfort. In a randomised, double-blind trial of 313 adults with chronic low back pain published in The Lancet (Kovacs et al., 2003), the group on medium-firm mattresses did better on pain in bed, pain on rising and disability after 90 days than the group on firm ones. Back sleepers and people who change position during the night suit it best. Sleepeezee’s marketing director Amy Curtis, quoted on the MattressNextDay listing, describes it as a mattress that uses latex to cushion without that slow, deep sink, which is a fair summary of how latex differs from the memory foam in the Sleepeezee Memory Ultimate 4500.

The main drawback is the purchase terms, not the mattress.
