The Sleepeezee Luxury Ortho 1600 Pocket Mattress is a firm, 25 cm double-sided mattress with 1,600 traditional pocket springs between two high-density fibre layers and no foam. Mattress Online lists it at a regular £545 for a double and £655 for a king at the time of writing (September 2026), with a 10-year guarantee and a UK build.

A traditional, turnable build

The construction is deliberately simple. Mattress Online’s cut-away shows a soft knitted cover, a high-density support layer, the 1,600-spring unit and a second high-density layer underneath, so both faces can be slept on. The surface is tufted to hold the fibres in place, and the border has air vents and handles.

Layer (top to bottom) Material Job
Cover Soft knitted fabric, tufted Sleep surface
Upholstery High-density synthetic fibres Cushioning and support
Spring unit 1,600 traditional pocket springs Main support
Upholstery High-density synthetic fibres Second sleeping side

Firmness and who it suits

Mattress Online rates the Luxury Ortho 1600 firm and sells it as orthopaedic support, which we place at 7 out of 10. Back and front sleepers who like a hard, even surface, and heavier sleepers who sink through soft tops, are the natural buyers. Firm is not automatically better for a bad back. In a randomised, double-blind trial of 313 adults published in The Lancet (Kovacs et al., 2003), people with chronic low-back pain on medium-firm mattresses reported less pain in bed and less disability after 90 days than those on firm ones. Side sleepers who want a double-sided Sleepeezee with more give should look at the medium Wool Luxe 2800.

Sizes, prices and care

UK size Dimensions (cm) Regular price Sale price seen (September 2026)
Single 90 x 190 £449 £381
Small double 120 x 190 £535 £508
Double 135 x 190 £545 £508
King 150 x 200 £655 £628
Super king 180 x 200 £865 £727

At the time of writing Mattress Online held stock of the small double and super king, and took orders for the other sizes with the same two to three week lead time. The price of the double-sided build is the care routine. Mattress Online asks for the mattress to be turned and rotated every week for the first three months and monthly after that, which is what spreads wear across both faces and slows the dips that fibre fillings develop. Sleepeezee’s FAQ gives the same schedule for its double-sided models.

Owner feedback is thin but positive, with six Mattress Online reviews averaging 5 out of 5 in September 2026. The 100-night Comfort Trial is an exchange rather than a refund, starts after 30 nights and requires a protector bought from Mattress Online.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“We recommend the Luxury Ortho 1600 to back and front sleepers who want a firm, foam-free mattress with 1,600 pocket springs that they can turn. Side sleepers and anyone who will not flip a mattress every month should choose a single-sided Sleepeezee instead.”
