The Sleepeezee Jessica Performance is a medium, 29 cm pillow top hybrid with 2,800 pocket springs and a 40 mm layer of Dual Gel Foam, co-designed with the Olympic heptathlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill. It is the core model of Sleepeezee’s new Jessica collection, sold only through retailers; at the time of writing (September 2026) Bridge Bedding Centre lists it at £849 in a single and £1,149 in a double.

Construction

According to Sleepeezee’s product page, the collection replaces the earlier Jessica Support, Jessica and Jessica Plush. The spring system has two tiers, 1,000 traditional pocket springs inside an encapsulated edge with 1,800 mini comfort springs above, and the comfort stack combines gel foam with Breathable Platinum Fibres, whose open, non-woven structure is meant to let moisture vapour escape. A pillow top finishes it, so the mattress is non-turn and only needs rotating.

Layer (top to bottom) Material
Pillow top Soft knitted cover
Support layer Polyester
Fibre layer Breathable Platinum Fibres
Foam 40 mm Dual Gel Foam
Support layer High-density fibre
Upper springs 1,800 mini comfort springs
Lower springs 1,000 traditional pocket springs, encapsulated edge

Firmness and who it suits

Sleepeezee rates the Jessica Performance medium, which we place at 5 out of 10. A mid-scale mattress is the sensible default for most people. A 2021 review of 39 studies in the Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Caggiari et al.) concluded that a medium-firm mattress promotes comfort, sleep quality and spinal alignment. Couples and mixed-position sleepers gain most from the pillow top and the edge support, and people who overheat on plain memory foam get a gel and fibre stack designed to move heat and moisture instead.

UK size Sleepeezee dimensions (cm) Weight Price
Single 91 x 190 22 kg £849
Small double 122 x 190 27 kg £1,149
Double 137 x 190 32 kg £1,149

Super king 183 x 198 47 kg £1,449

Buying it

Sleepeezee makes it to order at its Rochester factory, offers a ten-year guarantee on its mattresses and donates £20 to The Children’s Hospital Charity for every Jessica mattress sold. At 36 kg for a king it is also far easier to rotate than Sleepeezee’s wool models. The weak point is buying it: there is no Sleepeezee checkout, prices and trial terms are set by each retailer, so the same size can cost noticeably more in one shop than another. Many British buyers also spend less. In a National Bed Federation survey of buyers carried out in November 2021, three quarters had paid under £800 for their bed. The previous-generation Jessica 1800 is still sold by Mattress Online if you want a Jessica for less.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Jessica Performance is the Sleepeezee we would recommend to most couples, with a balanced medium feel, 2,800 springs and more cooling than a plain memory foam hybrid. Compare two or three stockists before buying, because retailer prices for the same size differ.”
