The Sleepeezee Deluxe 1000 Pocket Mattress is a firm, double-sided traditional mattress: 1,000 pocket springs between layers of high-density white fibre, a tufted knitted cover and a depth of 25 cm. It is exclusive to Mattress Online, made in the UK with a 10-year guarantee, and costs a regular £325 in a single and £439 in a double at the time of writing (September 2026), with the single currently reduced to £298.

A simple, all-fibre build

There is no foam in the Deluxe 1000. Mattress Online’s cut-away shows a symmetrical build, which is what makes it turnable: knitted cover, high-density white fibres, 1,000 traditional pocket springs, then the same fibre layer and cover on the other side. Tufts pass right through the mattress to stop the fillings shifting. Synthetic fibres are the least expensive comfort filling a pocket mattress can have and they breathe well, but they do not contour the way foam, latex or wool do.

Firmness and who it suits

Mattress Online rates the Deluxe 1000 as firm, which we place at 8 out of 10. That suits stomach sleepers, heavier sleepers and anyone who likes to lie on top of a mattress rather than sink into it. It is not automatically the right choice for a bad back. In a double-blind trial of 313 adults with chronic low back pain, Kovacs and colleagues (The Lancet, 2003) found that people on medium-firm mattresses had better outcomes for pain in bed, pain on rising and disability after 90 days than people on firm ones. Side sleepers with broad shoulders will also find the fibre layers thin, and the Sleepeezee Classic Memory 1000 or Jessica 1800 is a softer route on a similar spring count.

Prices, care and value

UK size Dimensions (cm) Regular price
Single 90 x 190 £325
Small double 120 x 190 £419
Double 135 x 190 £439
King 150 x 200 £545
Super king 180 x 200 £619

Price is the Deluxe 1000’s strongest argument. A National Bed Federation buyer survey from November 2021 found that 46% of people spent no more than £399 on their new bed, and this double sits just above that line while still being a British-made pocket mattress from an NBF-approved manufacturer. The same survey found 41% of buyers replacing a mattress within five years, often because it had worn out, which is where a double-sided design helps: Mattress Online advises turning and rotating it every week for the first three months and monthly after that, so wear spreads over both faces.

That routine is the drawback, along with the trial terms. Mattress Online’s 100-night Comfort Trial is an exchange rather than a refund, requires a mattress protector bought from the retailer and asks for 30 nights on the mattress before you can swap it.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Deluxe 1000 is the least expensive British-made, double-sided pocket mattress in this Sleepeezee line-up, and we recommend it for stomach sleepers, heavier sleepers and guest rooms. Side sleepers with broad shoulders will find its 1,000-spring, fibre-only build too firm.”
