The Silentnight Comfort Breathe 1200 Pocket is a 25cm pocket-sprung mattress that pairs 1200 Mirapocket springs with a breathable fibre comfort layer and a mesh side border, priced from £379 for a single. It is the Comfort Breathe model we would pick for warm sleepers who share a bed.

What the extra money buys

Compared with the Comfort Breathe 1000, the 1200 on Silentnight’s site adds 200 springs, 1cm of depth and a mesh border that lets warm air leave the mattress as you move. Silentnight positions it for people with neck or back discomfort, and says its Comfort Breathe fibres are 15 times more breathable than standard memory foam.

Layer, top to bottom What Silentnight uses What it does
Sleep surface Hypoallergenic quilted fabric Soft, skin-friendly top
Comfort layer Comfort Breathe fibres Moves air and moisture away from the body
Protective layer Pressure-dispersing pad Spreads spring load for a longer life
Support 1200 Mirapocket pocket springs Zoned support, less partner disturbance
Border Mesh side panel Second route for air to escape

Why airflow matters

Airflow is the point of this mattress, and it is a sound one. A review in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology (Okamoto-Mizuno and Mizuno, 2012) links heat exposure with more time awake and less deep and REM sleep, and reports normal sleep at a bed climate of roughly 32 to 34°C and 40 to 60% relative humidity. A fibre layer plus a mesh border is built to hold that range better than a foam-topped mattress, which traps more heat.

Sizes and prices

UK size Dimensions (cm) Price at Silentnight
Single 90 x 190 £379
Small double 120 x 190 £499
Double 135 x 190 £499
King 150 x 200 £599
Super king 180 x 200 £729

Prices are Silentnight’s regular prices, checked in September 2026. Each mattress is made to order in the UK, with delivery aimed within 14 days. The 60-night comfort exchange applies to silentnight.co.uk orders only and opens after 28 nights on the mattress. It gets you a different Silentnight mattress, not your money back. The guarantee runs for 5 years.

One inconsistency is worth knowing. The product headline calls the 1200 medium/firm, while the firmness block on the same page says medium. We score it 6 out of 10, which sits inside both bands. The bigger question is price: in every size the 1200 costs more than the 1000, so buy it for the border and the springs, not for a different feel.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Comfort Breathe 1200 is worth the step up from the 1000 if you sleep hot or share the bed, because the mesh border and 200 extra springs target exactly those two problems. If neither applies, the 1000 gives you the same fibre-and-spring recipe for less in every size.”
