Firmness: MediumThe iGel NanoTech 4000i Plushtop is a 34cm pocket spring mattress with a plush top, 60mm graphene foam and a soft option.
The iGel NanoTech 4000i Plushtop is the plushtop iGel for side sleepers: a 34cm mattress with 4,000 dual-layer pocket springs, 60mm of graphene-infused cooling foam and, unusually for the plushtop models, a soft version alongside medium and firm. Bensons for Beds sells it exclusively, and 428 customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 (October 2026).
Mini pocket springs sit over full-height pocket springs, 4,000 in all, under a plushtop layer and 60mm of iGel NanoTech graphene foam. That is half as much cooling foam again as the flat-top 2050i and 3000i. iGel foam with gel crystals, AdvantEdge edge support and a quilted cover with TENCEL fibres complete the specification on Bensons’ product page.
| Size | Dimensions (cm) | Price at Bensons |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 90x190 | £1,239.99 |
| Small double | 120x190 | £1,359.99 |
| Double | 135x190 | £1,359.99 |
| King | 150x200 | £1,519.99 |
| Super king | 180x200 | £1,839.99 |
At regular prices it costs £100 more than the 3500i in every size. In October 2026 Bensons had it at 20% off, which put it below the 3500i while the offer lasted.
The soft version paired with a plush top is the softest surface in the iGel range, so it suits lighter side sleepers who want their shoulder and hip to sink in. Medium covers most side and back sleepers. Front sleepers are better served by a flat-top model in firm.
Bensons markets the NanoTech range as menopause-friendly, with GenM’s MTick symbol for helping to alleviate night sweats. The NHS notes that menopausal sleep problems may be worse if you also have night sweats, so a cooler sleep surface is a sensible priority. Bear in mind that the MTick is a shopping symbol run by GenM and its partner brands, not a clinical rating, and that the NHS also recommends keeping the bedroom cool.
The 34cm depth needs fitted sheets with deep pockets, and outside a sale the jump from the 3500i buys a soft option and 10mm of foam rather than a different feel. There is no refund trial, only Bensons’ paid exchange after five nights under its 40 Night Comfort Guarantee.

“The 4000i is the plushtop to choose if you sleep on your side, because it is the only one Bensons sells in soft as well as medium and firm. It costs £100 more than the 3500i at regular prices, so buy it during one of Bensons' iGel sales if you can.”Go to shop →
