Firmness: MediumThe iGel NanoTech 2050i is a 2,050 pocket spring mattress with a 40mm graphene-infused cooling foam layer, sold only at Bensons.
The iGel NanoTech 2050i is the entry model of the iGel range: a 29cm pocket spring mattress with a 40mm layer of graphene-infused cooling foam, sold only by Bensons for Beds. It is also the most reviewed iGel on the Bensons site, rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1,497 customers when we checked in October 2026.
Support comes from 2,050 individually pocketed springs in a single layer. Above them sit 40mm of iGel NanoTech foam with graphene, the same depth the 3000i uses, and a layer of iGel foam with gel crystals for pressure relief. AdvantEdge edge support firms up the perimeter, and the quilted cover blends TENCEL fibres to help with moisture. Bensons’ product page gives the height as 29cm in the specification list and 28cm in its measurement diagram, so allow for the higher figure when you buy sheets.
| Size | Dimensions (cm) | Price at Bensons |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 90x190 | £999.99 |
| Small double | 120x190 | £1,149.99 |
| Double | 135x190 | £1,149.99 |
| King | 150x200 | £1,299.99 |
| Super king | 180x200 | £1,699.99 |
The small double and the double cost the same, so a couple choosing between them loses nothing by taking the wider size.
Medium and firm are the two options. The medium version gives a balanced feel for back and side sleepers who do not want much sink. The firm version is the most straightforward iGel for front sleepers, who tend to sink too far into a plush top. There is no soft option, so a lighter side sleeper who wants more give around the shoulder should look at the 3000i or one of the plushtop models.
Getting the feel right matters more than the spec sheet suggests. The NHS lists uncomfortable beds among the common causes of insomnia, and an iGel mattress cannot be returned for a refund once used. Bensons’ 40 Night Comfort Guarantee offers an exchange after at least five nights, for a charge and only if you used a mattress protector, which makes a visit to a Bensons store before ordering worth the trip.
The single spring layer gives a less responsive surface than the dual-layer models further up the range. Bensons also advises against using an electric blanket on any iGel mattress because of the temperature-regulating foam, which rules it out for anyone who relies on one through the winter.

“The 2050i is the most affordable way into iGel's cooling NanoTech range and a solid all-rounder for warm sleepers. Wait for one of Bensons' frequent sales: the regular prices are high for a single layer of springs.”Go to shop →
