iGel NanoTech 3500i Plushtop reviewed

The iGel NanoTech 3500i Plushtop is the entry point to iGel’s plushtop models: a 33cm pocket spring mattress with 3,500 springs in two layers, a cushioned plush top and 50mm of graphene-infused cooling foam. Bensons for Beds is the only seller, and 604 of its customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 (October 2026).

What changes from the flat-top models

Two things. The 3500i adds a plushtop layer above the main mattress, which softens the first few centimetres you lie on, and its graphene foam is 50mm deep instead of the 40mm in the 2050i and 3000i. The spring unit follows the 3000i pattern, mini pocket springs over full-height pocket springs, with 500 more springs in total. The rest of the specification on Bensons’ product page is shared across the range: iGel foam with gel crystals, AdvantEdge edge support and a quilted cover with TENCEL fibres.

Who it suits

Side sleepers who find the flat-top iGels a little hard at the shoulder are the obvious audience, along with back sleepers who like some surface give. It comes in medium and firm only. If you want a plushtop on the soft side, the 4000i Plushtop is the model that offers it.

The 33cm height sits in the middle of the range, deep enough to need fitted sheets with generous pockets but 4cm shallower than the 5000i, which matters on a divan with a low headboard.

How long it should last

The 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee runs longer than the National Bed Federation’s advice to replace a mattress every seven to eight years, published through The Sleep Charity. Rotating it regularly, as the care guide asks for this no-turn design, helps the plush top wear evenly.

The drawbacks

The gain over the 3000i in cooling is modest, 10mm of extra graphene foam. The bigger limitation is the lack of a soft option, and as with every iGel you get an exchange rather than a refund if it does not suit: Bensons’ 40 Night Comfort Guarantee applies after five nights, carries a charge and requires a mattress protector.
