The Aspire Total Relief is a 20cm all-foam mattress, made in the UK and delivered rolled and vacuum packed, that costs £135 in a small single and £205 in a 4ft6 double. It is Aspire’s entry-level mattress and the one its shop lists first when you sort the range by best sellers.

What is inside the Total Relief

Despite the name, memory foam plays a small part. Aspire’s own layer diagram shows a 1cm memory foam layer under the quilted cover, a layer of base foam beneath it and a 12.5cm block of recycled eco foam at the bottom, and the product description puts the eco and reflex foam core at 19cm. In practice that gives you a reflex foam mattress with a softened surface, not the slow, deep sink people associate with memory foam. Aspire rates it medium-firm.

Layer, top to bottom What Aspire states
Quilted cover Zipped, removable and washable
Memory foam 1cm
Base foam Thickness not given
Recycled eco foam block 12.5cm
Total depth 20cm

The zip cover is the most practical detail at this price. You can take it off and wash it instead of spot-cleaning the whole mattress, which counts for a lot on a guest bed or in a child’s room. Follow the care label for the temperature.

Sizes and prices

Aspire sells the Total Relief in all six standard UK sizes. These are the prices on Aspire’s shop on 10 October 2026.

Size Mattress (cm) Aspire price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £135
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £150
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £205
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £205
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £240
Super king (6ft) 180 x 200 £305

Every size carries a struck-through “was” price about a third higher. Read it with caution rather than as a deadline. When the shop page was archived in December 2024, the single cost £210 with no reduction shown, a little less than today’s “was” figure of £220. Aspire gives no end date for the current price.

Returns and the 5-year guarantee

There is no sleep trial. Aspire’s returns policy gives you 14 days to cancel an online order, but it excludes mattresses whose hygiene seal has been broken unless they are faulty, and a rolled mattress has to come out of its wrapping before anyone can lie on it. The 5-year guarantee is pro rata too. After the first 12 months, Aspire’s guarantee page asks you to pay 20% of the current retail price towards a replacement in the second year, rising to 70% in the fifth.

Who should buy it

Back sleepers and lighter adults will find the medium-firm foam supportive enough for nightly use. Side sleepers are the exception, because a single centimetre of memory foam leaves little give between your shoulder and a firm foam core. Heavier sleepers should also weigh the 20cm depth, which is shallow for an adult’s main mattress.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“Buy the Total Relief where a low price and an easy rolled delivery matter more than deep cushioning, which makes it a sound choice for a guest room or a child moving into a bigger bed. If an adult will sleep on it every night, Aspire's Pocket+ 1000 Memory costs about £20 more in a single and adds pocket springs under the foam.”
