Aspire 3000 Pocket Climate Cool Wool reviewed

The Aspire 3000 Pocket Climate Cool Wool is the Aspire to choose if you sleep warm. It has the same 3,000-spring, hand-tufted build as the brand’s cashmere model but tops it with pure wool and a cooling fabric, and a 4ft6 double costs £649, the same as the cashmere version.

How it is meant to keep you cool

Two parts do the work. The sleep surface is Aspire’s Cool Blue tufted panel fabric, which Aspire describes as designed to dissipate heat, and beneath it sits a layer of 100% wool, a fibre that takes up moisture and releases it rather than holding it against the skin. The pocket spring core leaves open space for air to move through the mattress, which a solid foam block does not.

Build

The framed edge stiffens the perimeter, so the side of the bed holds up when you sit on it to put your socks on. Aspire gives the comfort rating as medium-firm in the specification and medium in the description. With an 18cm spring base and a tufted top, expect the firmer reading, which suits back sleepers best.

We checked these prices on Aspire’s shop on 10 October 2026, and no size carried a reduction.

The catch

Like the rest of Aspire’s mattresses, it comes with no sleep trial, and Aspire’s returns policy excludes mattresses with a broken hygiene seal from change-of-mind returns. The 5-year guarantee is pro rata after the first year, starting at 20% of the retail price for a replacement.
