The Vispring Elite is the entry point to Vispring’s handmade range, a medium-firm pocket-sprung mattress with 1,254 springs in a king and a filling of nothing but British wool and cotton. It suits most back and side sleepers who want a natural, foam-free mattress and would rather spend on the right spring tension than on horsehair or Shetland wool.

The specification comes from Vispring’s Elite page. Vispring rates the upholstery 4 on its 1 to 5 Feel Index, which we record as 6 out of 10. The tension is a separate choice, so the same Elite can be ordered soft for a light side sleeper or extra firm for a heavier back sleeper, and that decision changes the feel more than the model name does.

In a king the Elite costs £1,959, the lowest king price of any Vispring divan mattress, and the step from a double to a king adds less than £400. Land of Beds also sells zip and link versions, two narrower mattresses joined together, for couples who want different tensions.
Wool and cotton breathe and draw moisture away, and the air vents in the hand-stitched borders let the mattress vent at the edges. Like every Vispring it is double-sided, and the Vispring FAQ asks owners to turn it twice a month for the first three months and once a season after that while the fillings settle.
The limits are the spring count and the filling. The Elite has the fewest springs in the range and no horsehair, horsetail or Shetland wool, so anyone who wants more airflow or a deeper, softer top should compare it with the Herald Superb and the Regal Superb in our best Vispring mattresses ranking.
