The Vispring Regal Superb is a gently soft, deep pocket-sprung mattress for side sleepers who want their shoulders to sink in without losing support. It is the first model in the Classic Collection to use real Shetland wool, blended with cotton on top of South American horsetail and 1,720 springs in a king.

Vispring’s Regal Superb page rates it 2 on its 1 to 5 Feel Index, which we record as 4 out of 10. The horsetail matters most here. Vispring says the hand-teased strands act like mini springs, which keeps the soft top lively and is the main difference from the all-wool Devonshire.
Side sleepers and lighter back sleepers suit it best. Front sleepers and heavier people who like a firm surface will find more support in the Herald Superb or the Baronet Superb, or can order the Regal Superb in a firm tension.

A king costs £6,499, more than three times the Elite. The 23cm border is 2cm deeper than the Elite and Herald Superb, so check that your fitted sheets have a pocket deep enough for about 29cm including the doming.
Like every double-sided Vispring it needs regular turning. On a slatted bed the Vispring FAQ asks for slats no more than 7.5cm apart and recommends a Vispring mattress pad between slats and mattress. Shetland wool and horsetail also rule it out for anyone avoiding animal fibres.
