The Aspire 7000 Pocket Wool Cashmere and Silk Pillowtop is a hand-tufted pocket sprung mattress with a pillowtop stitched to its sleep surface, made by Aspire Furniture and sold through its own Aspire Store. A 4ft6 double costs £510, which makes it the cheapest way into Aspire’s 7,000-spring range.

Construction

Aspire’s cross-section lists eleven layers. These are the ones that shape the feel, from the top down.

Layer What it does
Damask tufted cover Woven sleep surface, held in place by hand tufting
Wool, cashmere and silk blend Natural-fibre comfort layer
Poly-cotton rebound layer Cotton and recycled polyester padding
3,000 micro pocket springs Inside the pillowtop, softening the surface
3,000 micro pocket springs Second micro spring layer, in the main unit
800gsm poly fibre and recycled felt Padding and insulation between the spring layers
1,000 nested 18cm pocket springs Main support, with a framed edge

The 7,000 in the name needs reading with care. Only 1,000 of the springs are full-size 18cm support springs, the same core as in Aspire’s 3000 models, and the other 6,000 are small tablet springs in the comfort layers. The National Bed Federation puts typical pocket spring counts at 600-800 up to 2,500, so the core is a solid mid-market unit and the micro springs mainly change how cushioned the surface feels.

Aspire rates the mattress medium-firm. The pillowtop adds a softer first layer over that base, which helps at the shoulder and hip if you sleep on your side, and the pocket springs move independently, so one sleeper turning over disturbs the other less.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress (cm) Price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £320
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £370
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £450
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £510
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £570
Super king (6ft) 180 x 200 £650

We checked these prices on 11 October 2026. Every size shows a struck “was” price on Aspire’s site, £1,299 on the double, but an archived copy of Aspire’s pillowtop range from March 2026 shows the same reduction, so we treat the lower figure as the normal price rather than a sale.

Returns and guarantee

There is no sleep trial. Aspire’s returns policy lets you cancel within 14 days of delivery, except for mattresses whose hygiene seal has been broken, so the decision is final once the plastic is off. The 5-year guarantee is free in the first year only; after that Aspire charges 20% of the current retail price towards a replacement in year two, rising to 70% in year five.

Who it suits

It suits side and back sleepers who like a cushioned top, and couples who want natural fillings without paying for a dual-sided mattress. If you prefer a flat, firmer surface, the 3000 Pocket Wool Cashmere and Silk keeps the same fillings without the pillowtop, and the 7000 Dual Sided is the model to choose if you want to flip your mattress. Our Aspire mattress comparison sets all three side by side with the rest of the range.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“This is the Aspire we would buy for a main bedroom, because it pairs the full 7,000-spring build and natural fillings with a mid-range price. Skip it if you want a mattress you can flip or prefer a flat, firmer surface to a pillowtop.”
