The Vispring Bedstead Traditional is the cheapest way to put a handmade Vispring on a slatted bedstead, a firm wool and cotton mattress with a built-in British wool pad. It suits back and front sleepers who like a firm surface and own a wooden or metal bedstead rather than a divan.

Vispring’s Bedstead Traditional page rates it 5 on its 1 to 5 Feel Index, which we record as 8 out of 10. The same page lists 1,254 springs in the technical details and 1,326 in the description further down, so ask your stockist which applies before you buy.
Vispring says the built-in pad safeguards against wear and improves breathability, the job a separate mattress pad does for its divan models on slats. The frame still matters. Bed Advice UK, run by the National Bed Federation, warns that a new mattress on a worn or incompatible base can shorten its life and even void the warranty, so check that old slats are sound and evenly spaced.

A king costs £2,049, barely more than the divan Elite in the same size and about half the Bedstead Supreme.
The firm feel is the main caveat. Lighter side sleepers will find it hard unless they order a soft tension, and the Bedstead Supreme is the less firm alternative for slatted beds. Like every double-sided Vispring it needs turning on the schedule in the Vispring FAQ.
