TEMPUR EASE 20 reviewed

The TEMPUR EASE 20 is the lowest-priced of the six mattresses TEMPUR sells direct in the UK, a 20cm medium firm foam mattress with a 3cm layer of TEMPUR Adapt Material over base foam. A 135x190 double lists at £1,199 on TEMPUR’s UK shop, roughly half the £2,299 list price of the 21cm PRO SmartCool in the same size.

The three EASE depths side by side

All three EASE depths share the same 3cm comfort layer; the extra height sits in the base foam. TEMPUR Adapt is the brand’s original TEMPUR material in its current form, a viscoelastic foam that softens where you are warmest and stays firmer where there is less contact. With only 3cm of it the contour is shallow and you lie on the mattress more than in it, which many back sleepers prefer. Heavier side sleepers can press through to the base foam at the shoulder, and they are better matched to the EASE 25 or a PRO model.

The cover lifts off and washes at 30°C. There is no cooling yarn in the EASE fabric, the clearest difference from the PRO SmartCool range, so warm sleepers should weigh that. At 22.5kg unboxed in a double, the EASE 20 is also the lightest TEMPUR mattress to handle.

Price context matters with this model. The National Bed Federation’s consumer survey of 500 recent bed buyers (November 2021) found that 46% spent up to £399 on a new bed and three quarters under £800, so even the cheapest TEMPUR sits above what most UK households pay. What the extra buys is the TEMPUR material, a 10-year guarantee and the 100-night home trial, which asks you to sleep on the mattress for at least 60 nights before returning it.

UK sizes and list prices

Prices are TEMPUR’s list prices at the time of writing (September 2026), and offers regularly take a few hundred pounds off. Note that there is no standard 90x190 single in the EASE range, only the 90x200 long single. Delivery is free to mainland UK, with next working day delivery offered on stocked sizes, and TEMPUR collects your old mattress for recycling free of charge.
