The Silentnight Memory 1000 Pocket is a 25cm hybrid mattress with a memory foam comfort layer over 1000 zoned Mirapocket springs, rated medium/firm and priced from £369 for a single. It is Silentnight’s mid-priced option for people who want foam contouring without giving up spring support.

How it is built

According to the Silentnight product page, the memory foam moulds to your shape and absorbs movement, while the pocket springs carry the weight in zones and the breathable borders let more air through than an all-foam mattress. The page highlights reduced roll-together, which is what couples of different weights notice first.

Layer, top to bottom What Silentnight uses What it does
Comfort layer Responsive memory foam Contouring and pressure relief
Border Breathable side panels More airflow than a foam-only mattress
Support 1000 Mirapocket pocket springs, firmer centre Zoned support and less roll-together

Feel and temperature

We rate it 6 out of 10 for firmness, in the medium-firm band that a 2021 review of 39 studies (Caggiari et al., Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) associated with better comfort, sleep quality and spinal alignment. The foam adds a sink-in feel on top of that support.

The trade-off is heat. Memory foam reacts to body heat, so the Memory 1000 sleeps warmer than Silentnight’s fibre-topped Comfort Breathe models. That matters because a room or bed that is too hot is one of the causes of poor sleep the NHS lists.

Sizes and prices

UK size Dimensions (cm) Price at Silentnight
Single 90 x 190 £369
Small double 120 x 190 £479
Double 135 x 190 £479
King 150 x 200 £579
Super king 180 x 200 £699

Prices are Silentnight’s regular prices, checked in September 2026. Each mattress is made to order in the UK with delivery aimed within 14 days, backed by a 5-year guarantee. If the foam turns out too warm for you, Silentnight’s 60-night comfort exchange lets you move to another of its mattresses once you have slept on this one for 28 nights. There is no refund option, and the exchange only covers orders placed on silentnight.co.uk.

Against its siblings, the Memory 1000 costs less than the Comfort Breathe 1200 in every size and much less than the 31cm Memory Pocket 2000, which adds a pillowtop and twice the springs. If you want foam and are on a budget, this is the sensible stopping point.

Who should skip it

Front sleepers are the weakest match. Memory foam lets the hips settle, and on your front that can arch the lower back, so a firmer spring mattress such as the Comfort Breathe 1400 Ortho is the better choice. The Memory 1000 is single-sided, so rotate it head to foot regularly to spread wear, as Silentnight advises for its mattresses. Handled that way, it should last towards the 7 to 8 years the National Bed Federation recommends.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Memory 1000 suits couples and side-and-back sleepers who like the contouring of memory foam but want pocket springs underneath at a mid-range price. Hot sleepers should pick the Comfort Breathe 1000 instead, which costs less in every size and uses fibres rather than foam.”
