The Dormeo S Plus Evolution is a memory foam mattress whose S-shaped core can be flipped and rotated to change its feel, with each half set separately in a double, king or super king. It is the deeper version of the Dormeo S Plus, with 3cm of memory foam against 2cm, and a double costs £499 at its regular price (September 2026).

How the adjustable core works

According to the S Plus Evolution page on dormeo.co.uk, the core is made of Ecocell foam with a softer side and a firmer side, and it contains an Octaspring section arranged in three body zones. Couples can choose soft on both sides, firm on both sides, or one of each. Every change means unzipping the cover and moving the core by hand.

Setting How you change it What it does
Softer or firmer Flip your half of the core Switches between two Ecocell foam densities
Shoulder support Rotate the core head to toe Octasprings near the shoulders add give and bounce; foam there feels firmer
Two sleepers Set each half separately (double and larger) Soft + soft, firm + firm, or soft + firm

Dormeo’s product copy gives the depth as 26cm and its specification table as 23cm; we record the 26cm Dormeo repeats in its description and note the difference.

Who it suits

The Evolution is built for couples who disagree on firmness. A systematic review of 24 controlled trials by Radwan et al. (2015) in Sleep Health found that a mattress rated medium-firm and custom inflated (self-adjusted) was optimal for sleep comfort, quality and spinal alignment. The Evolution is adjusted with foam rather than air, but it follows the same idea of letting each sleeper choose. If you want a firmer top or tend to sleep hot, compare it with the standard S Plus, which has 2cm of memory foam instead of 3cm. Dormeo showed 492 reviews averaging 4.5 out of 5 in September 2026.

Prices by size

UK size Dimensions Regular price at Dormeo
Single 90 x 190cm £419
Double 135 x 190cm £499
King 150 x 200cm £619
Super king 180 x 200cm £739

On 28 September 2026 Dormeo sold the single at £377.99 with a “was” price of £679 and a “then” price that matches the regular single price above. We use the “then” price as the regular one, because it is the most recent price before the current offer.

Trial, warranty and delivery

The Evolution has Dormeo’s 200-night trial, and as a mattress with Octaspring technology it is collected free if you return it. Dormeo lists a 15-year warranty, and its memory range warranty terms give full cover for five years, then reduce it by 10% in year six and by 95% in year fifteen, with one year on the cover and a limit of 22 stone per side. It arrives rolled, with free delivery quoted at 7 to 10 days.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The S Plus Evolution suits couples who like the idea of the S Plus but find its 2cm of memory foam too thin. Each partner can set their own half, but every change means unzipping the cover, so it suits couples who will settle on a setting rather than swap often.”
