The Dormeo Octasmart Hybrid Plus is a 22cm hybrid mattress with a medium feel: open-cell memory foam on top, 5cm of zoned Octaspring foam springs, 8cm of individually wrapped pocket springs and a foam base. Its regular price is £1,399 in a UK double, but at the time of writing (28 September 2026) Dormeo was selling it at 60% off, £459 for a single and £529 for a double. Dormeo has run and withdrawn that discount before, so check the live price before you order. Customers on Dormeo’s site rate it 4.6 out of 5 from 296 reviews.
The Hybrid Plus page on dormeo.co.uk describes four layers. The difference from the standard Octasmart Hybrid is at the top and in the middle: memory foam replaces Aerocell foam, and the pocket spring layer is 8cm rather than 11cm.

We score the Hybrid Plus 5 out of 10 for firmness, a step softer than the Hybrid. The memory foam moulds around shoulders and hips, while the pocket springs keep enough push-back that changing position is easier than on an all-foam mattress. That matters in a shared bed. Bed Advice UK, the consumer site of the National Bed Federation, notes that the average person tosses and turns up to 60 times a night, and individually wrapped springs move independently rather than as one unit.
The medium rating fits the research on back pain. A 2021 systematic review of 39 studies in the Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Caggiari et al.) concluded that a medium-firm mattress promotes comfort, sleep quality and spinal alignment. Front sleepers and heavier adults may still find the Hybrid Plus too yielding at the hips; Dormeo’s own limit is 22 stone per side.

The Hybrid Plus is covered by Dormeo’s 200-night trial, and as an Octaspring mattress it is collected free if you return it. The Octasmart warranty runs for 18 years on the core and one year on the cover, with full cover for the first five years and a rising contribution from you after that. Slat gaps must be 7.5cm or less.
