The White Company discount codes & offers

The White Company is a British home retailer known for white bed linen and homeware, and in the sleep category it sells own-label duvets, pillows, mattress toppers and protectors alongside mattresses made by Hypnos. Chrissie Rucker started it in 1994 with a 12-page mail-order brochure, as the company’s own history page records, and Paula Nickolds became chief executive in 2024. The trading company, The White Company (U.K.) Limited, was incorporated on 5 December 1994 and is registered at Television Centre in west London.

Toppers and mattresses

The topper range includes a Luxury White Down, a Hypoallergenic Comfort and a Classic topper. The one we review in full is the Luxury White Down Topper, a two-layer design with a goose down and feather top layer in 300 thread count cotton over a goose feather base. The simpler Classic Mattress Topper starts at £110 in a single on The White Company’s site. Mattresses come from Hypnos: the Hypnos Marylebone, for example, is a turnable pocket-sprung mattress with British wool in its fillings.

The key restriction sits in the returns policy, which states that, for hygiene reasons, mattresses, toppers and protectors cannot be returned once the packaging has been removed. The delivery charges are shown on the Classic Mattress Topper page.

Who it suits

The White Company suits buyers who want a soft, lofty down topper from a high-street name, and who like being able to see the bedding in a shop before ordering. At £300 for a single, the down topper was the most expensive single in our feather topper comparison when we checked prices in September 2026, and the rule on sealed packaging means you commit the moment you open it, with no way to try it on your own bed. It is also the wrong choice for anyone allergic to feather or down, or for sleepers who want a topper to firm up or support a tired mattress, since a feather base compresses rather than supports.

The Luxury White Down Topper appears in our comparison of feather mattress toppers, measured against goose and duck toppers from other UK retailers.
