Brook + Wilde is a Greater Manchester mattress maker that designs and builds its own pocket sprung hybrids and sells them direct online. The trading company, Brook & Wilde Sleep Limited, was incorporated on 21 July 2023 with its registered office at Anchor Works in Oldham, and Companies House lists mattress manufacturing among its activities. The name is new but the team is not: the Brook + Wilde About page says the journey began 25 years ago in Manchester, that the team has made over one million mattresses since, and that design and manufacturing happen in-house.

The range

The Brook + Wilde delivery page gives lead times for five mattresses, the Lux, Elite, Ultima, Suprema and Perla. We have reviewed the two entry models so far.

The Lux comes in a medium feel only. The Elite is offered in medium or firm.

Trial, guarantee and delivery

Every mattress has a 200-night comfort trial that starts on the day of delivery. You must use a mattress protector for it to count, Brook + Wilde recommends at least 30 nights before judging, and if the comfort level is wrong it will exchange the mattress or refund what you paid. Lux owners who want a different feel have to pay the difference to a dearer model. The 10-year guarantee covers the core against faulty workmanship and materials but not normal softening, and the zipped covers are not designed to be removed or cleaned. Delivery is free, according to the Brook + Wilde homepage, and made by a two-person crew within four weeks; only the Lux can instead go express to your doorstep within ten working days. Brook + Wilde does not deliver outside mainland UK, which rules out the Isle of Wight, and a missed two-person delivery costs £30 to rebook.

Who Brook + Wilde suits

Brook + Wilde makes sense if you want a UK-made pocket sprung mattress carried into the bedroom and would rather buy from the maker than from a bed shop.
