The Silentnight Memory Pocket 2000 is a 31cm hybrid that combines a memory foam layer and a pillowtop with 2000 Mirapocket springs, priced from £479 for a single. It is Silentnight’s pick for pressure relief, aimed at people with aches in the shoulders and hips.

Construction

The Silentnight product page describes three working parts. Twice the spring count of the Memory 1000 means smaller, more closely packed springs, which follow the body more closely at the shoulder and hip.

Layer, top to bottom What Silentnight uses What it does
Pillowtop Quilted comfort layer Extra cushioning on the surface
Comfort layer Memory foam Moulds to the body, absorbs movement
Support 2000 Mirapocket pocket springs Zoned support and spinal alignment

Firmness

Silentnight is inconsistent here: the headline badge says medium and the firmness block says medium firm. We record it as medium, 5 out of 10, because a pillowtop over memory foam softens how any spring unit feels. That still sits close to the medium-firm band that the best trial evidence favours (Kovacs et al., The Lancet, 2003, 313 adults with chronic low back pain), and side sleepers in particular need the extra give at the shoulder.

Heat is the compromise. Memory foam responds to body heat, and the pillowtop adds another layer of padding on top of it. Research reviewed by Okamoto-Mizuno and Mizuno (2012) ties heat exposure to more wakefulness and less deep sleep, so if you overheat, the gel-topped UltraGel 1000 is the cooler choice at the same price, although it has half the springs.

Sizes and prices

UK size Dimensions (cm) Price at Silentnight
Single 90 x 190 £479
Small double 120 x 190 £629
Double 135 x 190 £629
King 150 x 200 £759
Super king 180 x 200 £919

Prices are Silentnight’s regular prices, checked in September 2026. At 31cm you will need deep fitted sheets. Every size is made to order in the UK and delivered within about 14 days, with a 5-year guarantee. Silentnight’s 60-night comfort exchange (from night 28, silentnight.co.uk orders only) swaps the mattress for another model; it does not refund you.

How it compares with its neighbours

The Memory Pocket 2000 costs £629 in a double, exactly what Silentnight charges for the UltraGel 1000 in the same size, and well above the Memory 1000 at £479. The extra money over the Memory 1000 buys twice the springs, 6cm more depth and the pillowtop. Against the UltraGel 1000 the choice is about temperature and feel: memory foam sinks and hugs, gel foam bounces back and runs cooler. For side sleepers who want cushioning above all, the Memory 2000 is the more comfortable of the three; for anyone who wakes warm, it is the least suitable.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“Pick the Memory Pocket 2000 if you sleep on your side, have sore shoulders or hips and want a deep, cushioned hybrid with plenty of springs. Warm sleepers should look at the UltraGel models instead, because foam plus a pillowtop is the warmest combination in this range.”
