Aspire Natural Wool Pocket Eco Hybrid
7.8/10A rolled 23cm hybrid made in the UK, with a wool comfort layer over…
Firmness: MediumA 25cm UK-made tufted mattress with 1,000 pocket springs and a cashmere-blend layer, priced well below Aspire's 3000 range.
The Aspire Cashmere 1000 Pocket Tufted is a 25cm pocket sprung mattress from Aspire Furniture’s budget Essentials line, with a cashmere and wool blend under a tufted cover. A 4ft6 double costs £379.99 on Aspire Store, far less than the hand-tufted 3000 models.
Aspire’s layer diagram shows eight parts, from the sleep surface down.
| Layer | What it does |
|---|---|
| Aspire Cool Touch tufted cover | Breathable knitted sleep surface |
| Cashmere blend layer (250gsm) | Cashmere and wool comfort filling |
| 800gsm recycled poly fibre | Soft padding over the springs |
| Recycled felt insulators | Pads above and below the spring unit |
| Up to 1,000 nested pocket springs | Main support |
| 400gsm recycled poly fibre base | Foundation under the springs |
| Non-sleep base fabric | Breathable underside that stops the mattress sliding |
Aspire says the comfort fillings are four times those of a standard tufted mattress, and it rates the feel medium-firm. With up to 1,000 springs, it sits inside the 600-800 to 2,500 range that the National Bed Federation describes as typical for pocket sprung mattresses. It is single-sided, so rotate it head to foot rather than flipping it. The 10-inch name and Aspire’s description both give a depth of 25cm, although the spec table on the same page says 20cm.

There is no sleep trial. Aspire’s returns policy lets you cancel within 14 days of delivery, except for mattresses whose hygiene seal has been broken, so the decision is final once the plastic is off. The 5-year guarantee is free in the first year only; after that Aspire charges 20% of the current retail price towards a replacement in year two, rising to 70% in year five.
It is a sensible choice for a guest room, a teenager’s room or a first double where you want springs and natural fibres on a budget, and its medium-firm feel suits back and front sleepers. Couples who want more cushioning should look at the 7000 Pocket Wool Cashmere and Silk Pillowtop, which adds 6,000 micro springs and a pillowtop for more money. The rest of the range, from rolled hybrids to the hand-tufted 3000 models, is compared in our Aspire mattress comparison.

“For a guest room or a first double, this is the cheapest way to get a traditional tufted Aspire with natural fibres in the top. Couples who want a softer, more cushioned surface should pay more for the 7000 pillowtop.”Go to shop →
