Background
About Dunelm
Dunelm is a British homewares retailer, and in beds it is known for affordable own-label toppers and rolled mattresses and for owning two older bedding brands, Dorma and Fogarty. The business began in 1979 as a stall on Leicester Market run by Bill and Jean Adderley, named after the house the family lived in, and opened its 200th store in 2025 (Dunelm history). The parent company, Dunelm Group plc, is listed on the London Stock Exchange and registered in Syston, Leicestershire (Companies House, no. 04708277).
Brands under the Dunelm roof
Dunelm acquired the Dorma brand and its Royal Warrants in 2008, according to the same history page, and bought the Fogarty brand and trademarks in October 2015 (Furniture News). Its own label covers the Dunelm and Hotel ranges, while Dorma and Fogarty each have a brand page of their own with us.
Guarantees, returns and delivery
Dunelm sets a different mattress guarantee for each range, and the gap is wide. Dunelm’s figures are below (Dunelm mattress guarantees).
| Mattress range sold by Dunelm | Guarantee |
|---|---|
| Dunelm Comfortzone | 5 years |
| Dunelm Everyday | 5 years |
| Fogarty | 10 years |
| Hotel | 15 years |
| Dorma | 20 years |
There is no sleep trial. Unused items can be returned within 28 days under Dunelm’s change-of-mind policy, but once a mattress is unwrapped it goes back only if it is faulty (Dunelm returns). Standard delivery costs £3.95 and is free over £60; large items cost £12.95 and are free over £600.
The Dunelm range we have reviewed
The protector carries the Fogarty name, but Dunelm lists itself as the brand on the product page, so it sits here. Depths come from Dunelm, the firmness grades are ours, and each price is the lowest regular price across sizes in September 2026.

Who Dunelm suits
Dunelm suits you if you want a topper or a budget mattress from a shop you can visit, with delivery from £3.95. The Gel Fusion tops our Dunelm topper comparison and is third in our best memory foam mattress toppers. It suits you less if you want to sleep on a mattress before committing, and at 19 cm the rolled hybrid is thinner than any Dorma or Fogarty mattress we list. The rolled mattress is also listed in our best soft mattresses.
