The Sleepeezee Classic Memory 1000 Pocket Mattress is a medium, 27 cm pillow top mattress with a memory foam comfort layer over 1,000 traditional pocket springs. It is exclusive to Mattress Online and made in the UK with a 10-year guarantee. At the time of writing (September 2026) it costs £599 in a single, £635 in a double and £735 in a king.

Pillow top construction

The comfort layers are gathered into a separate pillow top stitched to the spring unit. Mattress Online’s cut-away shows two polyester layers and a memory foam comfort layer inside that top, with high-density white fibres between the pillow top and the springs. Memory foam softens with body heat, which is where its pressure-relieving, moulded feel comes from, while the pocket springs underneath work individually to limit roll-together between partners.

Firmness and who it suits

Mattress Online rates the Classic Memory 1000 as medium, which we place at 5 out of 10. Side and back sleepers who want a softer top than the firm Sleepeezee Deluxe 1000, but without paying for a two-tier spring unit, are the target. Research supports a middle-of-the-scale choice for most people. In a trial of 62 healthy adults published in Applied Ergonomics (Jacobson et al., 2008), sleeping 28 days on new medium-firm bedding improved back pain, stiffness and sleep quality compared with the participants’ own beds, which were 9.5 years old on average. Stomach sleepers and heavier people will find 1,000 springs under a soft pillow top less supportive than the Ultimate Ortho 2000.

Prices, sizes and care

The small double is the odd one out. Mattress Online holds no stock of the single or small double and charges its full list price for both, so a small double at £849 costs more than a double at £635, and the double and king were reduced further in the retailer’s sale when we checked. All five sizes show the same two-week delivery estimate. The mattress is single-sided with side handles, and Mattress Online asks for weekly head-to-toe rotation for the first three months, then monthly. With the National Bed Federation putting the average UK replacement cycle at seven to eight years, a 10-year guarantee covers the working life most buyers will get from it, although it only covers manufacturing faults, not the gradual softening of the foam.

The Comfort Trial is the other catch. It runs for 100 nights but is an exchange, not a refund, requires a mattress protector bought from Mattress Online and starts only after 30 nights on the mattress.
