The Silentnight Sleep Now Dual Climate is a 15cm reversible memory foam mattress with a cool-to-touch side for summer and a cosy side for winter, delivered rolled and priced from £269 for a single. It belongs to Silentnight’s Sleep Now range of rolled mattresses, which carry a longer guarantee than the brand’s sprung models.

Two sides, one mattress

According to the Silentnight product page, the cooling side uses a fabric that takes heat away from the skin on contact, while the cosy side is a soft-knit surface over memory foam designed to hold warmth on cooler nights. You flip the mattress when the season changes.

Part What Silentnight uses What it does
Cooling side Cool-to-touch fabric Draws heat from the skin in warm weather
Core Memory foam Contouring and pressure relief
Cosy side Soft-knit, hypoallergenic cover Retains warmth on cold nights

The idea fits how temperature affects sleep. A review in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology (Okamoto-Mizuno and Mizuno, 2012) found that heat exposure increases wakefulness and reduces deep and REM sleep, while government guidance on keeping warm in winter advises heating the bedroom to at least 18°C. A mattress cannot replace heating, but a warmer or cooler surface does change how the first hour in bed feels.

Firmness and support

Silentnight describes the Dual Climate as medium, and we score it 5 out of 10. At 15cm it is thinner than any sprung Silentnight mattress in our comparisons, so it suits lighter sleepers, children’s rooms and spare beds better than heavier adults, who may push through to the base.

Sizes, prices and terms

UK size Dimensions (cm) Price at Silentnight
Single 90 x 190 £269
Double 135 x 190 £349
King 150 x 200 £399

Prices are Silentnight’s regular prices, checked in September 2026; there is no small double or super king. Sleep Now mattresses carry a 10-year guarantee instead of the usual 5 years, and a 60-night sleep trial. Delivery is within 48 hours on weekdays, rolled to your room. Silentnight says the mattress can take up to 2 hours to expand and advises waiting at least 8 hours before sleeping on it.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

The Dual Climate is a sensible spare-room or first-flat mattress: it arrives rolled, fits up narrow stairs, costs £349 in a double and carries the longest guarantee Silentnight offers. It is less convincing as a main mattress for heavier adults or couples. All-foam construction at 15cm gives less deep support than a pocket-sprung hybrid, and the flip-for-the-season idea only works if you remember to turn it. If you share a bed and run hot all year, a spring mattress with a breathable fibre layer, such as the Comfort Breathe 1200, will do more for you.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Dual Climate suits guest rooms, first flats and lighter sleepers who want one mattress for summer and winter and value quick rolled delivery. Heavier sleepers and couples should choose a pocket-sprung Silentnight, because 15cm of foam gives less support than a 24 to 31cm hybrid.”
