The Dreams Comfort 5 Zone Memory Foam Rolled Mattress is a 20cm medium-firm, all-foam mattress that arrives rolled and vacuum-packed, made in the UK for Dreams. It sits between the Core 3 Zone and the Luxe 7 Zone hybrid in the retailer’s own rolled range and carries a five-year guarantee.

Construction

The memory foam is shaped into five zones, which Dreams labels firm at the head and feet, soft under the shoulders and legs, and medium under the back. Jack Davies, category lead at Dreams, says on the product page that “the five-zone support system works to provide comfort where your body needs it most”. Dreams grades the result medium firm, which we place at 6 out of 10.

All-foam mattresses suit two situations particularly well. They go up narrow stairs and into loft rooms rolled, and they bend with a powered base. The National Bed Federation’s Bed Advice UK guide notes that foam mattresses “are particularly suitable for use with slatted bases and adjustable beds”, and Dreams lists the Comfort as compatible with its Sleepmotion adjustable bases. The trade-off is warmth, since dense memory foam lets less air through than an open spring unit.
