Dorma Full Forever Mattress Topper reviewed

The Dorma Full Forever Mattress Topper is a fibre topper: recycled polyester spiral fibre quilted into a 230 thread count, 100% cotton cover, sold only at Dunelm in 3cm and 6cm depths. A 3cm single costs £60 and a 6cm emperor £130 at the time of writing (September 2026), which makes it the cheapest way into the Dorma topper range. It suits anyone who wants a softer, plumper surface on a firm mattress without the slow sink of memory foam.

What it is made of

The Dunelm product page lists a 100% cotton cover and a 100% recycled polyester filling, which Dunelm describes as certified recycled polyester made from waste such as plastic bottles and manufacturing off-cuts. Cassette stitching divides the topper into boxes so the fibre stays spread across the bed rather than drifting to the edges, and elasticated straps hold it on mattresses up to 30cm deep. Dunelm also says the tightly woven cotton casing acts as a natural barrier against bedbugs.

Feel and who it suits

We rate the Full Forever medium-soft, 3 out of 10. A fibre topper cushions the surface but does not mould around the body the way memory foam does, so it feels springy rather than enveloping. The 3cm depth takes the edge off a hard mattress; the 6cm depth changes the feel far more and is the one to buy if you sleep on your side and your shoulder presses into a firm bed. Neither depth will rescue a mattress that sags, because a topper follows the shape of whatever sits underneath it. On a badly worn mattress, a new one is the better use of the money. Care, guarantee and returns

Washing is the weak point. Dunelm lists the Full Forever as spot clean only, so the fibre cannot go through a hot wash. That matters if you have a dust mite allergy, because Allergy UK advises that washing at 60°C or above kills house dust mites. The practical answer is a washable mattress protector over the topper. Dunelm states no guarantee for this topper, while it gives 10 years on its Dorma TENCEL Blend memory foam topper (Dunelm guarantee list).

There is no sleep trial either. Under Dunelm’s returns policy, mattress toppers are only refunded on a change of mind if they come back unused, sealed and in their original packaging. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 allow exactly that exception for sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed, so treat the purchase as final once the wrapping is off.
