The Aspire Natural Wool Pocket Eco Hybrid is a 23cm rolled mattress made in the UK, with a wool comfort layer and recycled eco foam over Aspire’s Pocket+ springs. A 4ft6 double costs £219 on Aspire Store, which makes it one of the cheapest ways to get natural fibres in an Aspire mattress.

Construction

Aspire’s layer diagram lists nine parts, from the top down.

Layer What it does
Aspire Cool Touch surface Breathable knitted cover
200gsm poly quilt Padding quilted into the cover
Wool comfort layer Natural fibre that helps balance temperature
Eco support foam Recycled foam, firmer cushioning
Recycled felt insulators Pads above and below the springs
Up to 1,000 Pocket+ springs Main support, designed to survive rolling
400gsm recycled poly fibre Padding under the springs
Non-sleep base fabric Breathable underside that stops the mattress sliding

Rolled pocket springs can lose some shape, particularly at the edges, after being compressed for delivery. Aspire says its Pocket+ unit was designed to keep its support after rolling and vacuum packing. The springs are individually pocketed, and the National Bed Federation notes that pocket springs work independently and help to eliminate roll-together, which matters if you share the bed. Aspire rates the feel medium. Integrated handles on the sides make it easier to rotate, which is all a single-sided mattress needs.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress (cm) Price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £179
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £179
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £219
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £219
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £239

We checked these prices on 11 October 2026. Aspire shows a struck “was” price on every size, £299 on the double, but an archived copy from December 2024 shows the same kind of standing reduction, so we treat the lower figure as the normal price. There is no super king.

Returns and guarantee

There is no sleep trial. Aspire’s returns policy lets you cancel within 14 days of delivery, except for mattresses whose hygiene seal has been broken, so the decision is final once the plastic is off. The 5-year guarantee is free in the first year only; after that Aspire charges 20% of the current retail price towards a replacement in year two, rising to 70% in year five.

Who it suits

It suits couples and combination sleepers on a budget who find memory foam too warm or too slow to respond, and anyone carrying a mattress up narrow stairs. If you want memory foam instead of wool for the same money, the Pocket+ 1000 Memory uses the same spring unit. Our Aspire mattress comparison ranks the two rolled models against Aspire’s hand-tufted range.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“Pick this over the Pocket+ 1000 Memory if memory foam feels too warm or too slow for you, since wool replaces it for little extra money. It is still a budget rolled hybrid, so do not expect the depth or hand finish of Aspire's tufted models.”
