Best Dorma mattress toppers

Dorma mattress toppers are sold only by Dunelm, and the range covers more ground than the name suggests: memory foam under a TENCEL-blend cover, spiral fibre in cotton, two-layer fibre and goose down designs, and a reversible wool topper. Choosing a Dorma bed topper comes down to how much depth your mattress needs, whether the filling can be washed and whether a guarantee matters to you, because most of the range carries none. The ranking below compares the full range in UK sizes from single to emperor, including the double most buyers want.

Dorma TENCEL Blend Memory Foam Mattress Topper

If one Dorma topper has to rescue a mattress that feels too hard, make it the TENCEL Blend. It is the only memory foam model in the range, so it is the one that actually moulds around a shoulder or hip, and Dunelm backs it with a 10-year guarantee, the longest Dorma offers on a topper.

The 6.5cm double costs £180, and the 10cm version adds £35. Side sleepers should take the 10cm, which was also the only double in stock on 5 October 2026. Readers weighing it against foam from other brands can compare our memory foam mattress toppers.

Pros
  • Moulds to shoulders and hips
  • 10-year Dunelm guarantee
  • CertiPUR-certified foam
  • Choice of 6.5cm or 10cm
Cons
  • Foam and cover are sponge clean only
  • Sleeps warmer than the fibre toppers
  • 6.5cm double out of stock on 5 October

Dorma Full Forever Mattress Topper
Best value

Dorma Full Forever Mattress Topper

The Full Forever is the cheapest way into Dorma at regular prices, and with 527 Dunelm reviews it is also the fibre topper most owners have tried. Recycled spiral fibre is quilted into boxes inside a 230 thread count cotton cover, which keeps the fill spread evenly and gives a springy, cool surface rather than a foam sink.

A 3cm double costs £80, and the 6cm adds £20, the depth worth paying for on a firm bed. It is also one of only two Dorma toppers sold in a small double and an emperor.

Pros
  • Cheapest Dorma topper at regular price
  • 230 thread count cotton cover
  • Six sizes, small double to emperor
  • Cassette stitching keeps the fill even
Cons
  • Spot clean only
  • 3cm depth barely softens a hard mattress
  • No stated guarantee

Dorma Hungarian Feather Dual Mattress Topper
Dorma Hungarian Feather Dual Mattress TopperDorma Hungarian Feather Dual Mattress TopperDorma Hungarian Feather Dual Mattress Topper
Best premium pick

Dorma Hungarian Feather Dual Mattress Topper

For a hotel-style bed, the Hungarian Feather Dual is the most luxurious topper Dorma makes. Its top layer holds 70% Hungarian goose down, so that layer alone clears the 60% that BS EN 13186 sets for a down product, and it buttons onto a firmer goose feather base that stops you sinking through to the mattress.

A double costs £205, more than any other Dorma topper except the 10cm TENCEL Blend, and the money buys softness rather than support. Front sleepers will find it too yielding.

Pros
  • 70% Hungarian goose down top layer
  • Firmer goose feather base layer
  • Top layer washes in a home machine
  • Fits mattresses up to 35cm deep
Cons
  • Not for feather allergies or vegans
  • Adds softness, little support
  • Only three Dunelm reviews so far

Dorma Full Forever Dual Mattress Topper
Dorma Full Forever Dual Mattress TopperDorma Full Forever Dual Mattress TopperDorma Full Forever Dual Mattress Topper
Best for deeper fibre comfort

Dorma Full Forever Dual Mattress Topper

Two layers of recycled fibre, 300gsm on top and 800gsm beneath, make the Full Forever Dual a fuller take on the Full Forever. The zip is the practical gain, because the top layer comes off and goes in a domestic wash, something no single-layer Dorma fibre topper allows.

That convenience doubles the price of the 3cm Full Forever, to £160 for a double, so it suits someone who already likes fibre and wants more of it.

Pros
  • Top layer zips off for washing
  • 300gsm top over an 800gsm base
  • 233 thread count cotton cover
  • Fill certified to the Global Recycled Standard
Cons
  • Base layer is spot clean only
  • No total depth stated
  • No small double or emperor

Dorma Full Forever Anti-Allergy Mattress Topper
Best anti-bacterial option

Dorma Full Forever Anti-Allergy Mattress Topper

The Anti-Allergy version is the Full Forever with its fibre coated in Aegis Microbe Shield, a biocide that Dunelm says prevents bacteria from growing. It costs £10 more per size, £90 for a 3cm double.

Read the label before buying it for a dust mite allergy, though. Dunelm makes no mite claim for the treatment, and its own care notes say spot clean only in one place and machine washable in another, so a breathable barrier cover over it remains the surer fix.

Pros
  • Fibre treated to stop bacteria growing
  • Cotton casing Dunelm says resists bedbugs
  • 3cm walled edge holds its shape
Cons
  • No dust mite claim from Dunelm
  • Care instructions contradict each other

Dorma Sumptuous Soft Down Like Mattress Topper
Best feather-free plush option

Dorma Sumptuous Soft Down Like Mattress Topper

Readers who want the sink of a feather bed without the feathers should look at the Sumptuous Soft. Its 7cm of down-like recycled fibre makes it the deepest of the single-layer Dorma fibre toppers, quilted into a 100% cotton cover, and a double costs £110.

It is a comfort layer, not a fix for a tired mattress. Fibre this deep compresses where you lie most and needs shaking out whenever you change the sheets.

Pros
  • 7cm of down-like fibre
  • No feathers or animal fibres
  • 100% cotton quilted cover
  • Straps fit mattresses up to 40cm
Cons
  • Compresses where you lie most
  • Single out of stock on 5 October

Dorma Dream Dual Layer Mattress Topper
Best soft-touch cover

Dorma Dream Dual Layer Mattress Topper

The Dream Dual Layer is the Dorma fibre topper to pick for the feel of the cover. A 350 thread count blend of recycled polyester and cotton sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative, finished with satin piping, sits over pin-tucked pockets of fibre 5cm deep, and Dunelm adds a two-year guarantee, one of only two in the range.

A double costs £140, more than the 6cm Full Forever, and the extra buys the finer cover, the pin-tucked two-layer build and the guarantee. The zip is for airing rather than washing, since Dunelm lists the whole topper as sponge clean only.

Pros
  • 350 thread count cover with satin piping
  • Pin-tucked pockets keep the fill even
  • Two-year Dunelm guarantee
  • 5cm, enough to soften a firm mattress
Cons
  • Zip-off top still cannot be washed
  • Lowest Dunelm rating in the range (4.3)

Dorma Luxury Wool Reversible Mattress Topper

Best for cold sleepers

Dorma Luxury Wool Reversible Mattress Topper

A reversible surface rather than a deep topper, the Luxury Wool Reversible puts merino wool against you in winter and cotton in summer, over a polyester fill whose depth Dunelm does not state. It is the one Dorma topper you can wash whole, in a high-capacity launderette machine.

Its regular double price is £65. On 5 October 2026 Dunelm had every size at half price, making it the cheapest Dorma topper for as long as the offer lasts, but it will do little for a mattress that is too firm. Wool fans who want a deeper layer should look at our wool mattress toppers.

Pros
  • Wool face for winter, cotton for summer
  • Whole topper is machine washable
  • Extra-deep skirt for 40cm mattresses
Cons
  • Padding depth not stated by Dunelm
  • Needs a launderette-size machine
  • Wool face rules it out for vegans

Buying advice

What to look for when buying

“Start with the TENCEL Blend if your mattress feels too hard, and treat the fibre toppers as a softer, cheaper refresh. Before you pay, check how each one is cleaned, because most of the range never goes near a washing machine.”

Foam, fibre, down or wool

The filling decides what a Dorma topper can do. Memory foam is the only one that moulds to your shape and spreads pressure at the shoulder and hip, and the TENCEL Blend is the only foam model in the range. Its foam is CertiPUR certified: under the CertiPUR programme, foam samples are tested in independent laboratories, the label lasts three years and control tests run every year.

Five of the toppers use recycled polyester fibre, which cushions the surface, feels springy rather than enveloping, sleeps cooler than foam and costs less. The Hungarian Feather Dual is the natural-filled option. Its top layer is 70% goose down. BS EN 13186, the European specification for feather and down bedding, lets a product be advertised as a down product from 60% down, according to IDFL’s summary of the European labelling standards, so the top layer clears that bar on its own while the all-feather base does not. The Luxury Wool Reversible is different again, a wool and cotton surface over polyester fibre rather than a wool filling. If none of these fits, our overall mattress topper ranking covers every major brand.

How much depth your mattress needs

Depth is the clearest guide to how much a topper changes the bed. Dunelm sells the Full Forever and the Anti-Allergy in 3cm or 6cm, the Dream Dual Layer is 5cm, the Sumptuous Soft 7cm and the TENCEL Blend 6.5cm or 10cm; it gives no depth for the Full Forever Dual, the Hungarian Feather Dual or the wool topper. A 3cm layer takes the edge off a hard mattress. If you sleep on your side and your shoulder presses into a firm bed, go to 6cm or more, and to the 10cm TENCEL Blend if you want to sink in further. No topper corrects a mattress that sags, because it follows the shape of whatever is underneath.

Washing, allergies and the 60°C rule

Care varies more across this range than any other specification. Only the Luxury Wool Reversible is machine washable as a whole, and Dunelm specifies a high-capacity launderette machine. The Full Forever Dual and the Hungarian Feather Dual have top layers that come off for a domestic wash, while their bases are spot clean only. Everything else is spot or sponge clean.

That matters if you have a dust mite allergy. Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust advises in its dust mite guidance: “Wash all bedding that is not encased in allergy covers on a 60º Cycle including pillows, quilts, blankets, duvets”. No Dorma topper can be washed that way in full, and the Anti-Allergy version’s treated fibre is sold to stop bacteria growing, not as a mite barrier. If you are allergic, put a breathable barrier cover or one of our recommended mattress protectors over whichever topper you choose.

Guarantee, returns and sizes

Only two Dorma toppers state a guarantee. Dunelm’s guarantee list gives the TENCEL Blend 10 years, and the Dream Dual Layer’s product page states 2 years. None of the range comes with a sleep trial. Under Dunelm’s returns policy, a mattress topper is refunded on a change of mind only if it comes back unused, sealed and in its original packaging, an exception that regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 allows for sealed goods unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds. In practice, once the bag is open, the topper is yours.

Every Dorma topper comes in single, double, king and super king. Only the Full Forever and the Anti-Allergy add a small double (3cm only) and an emperor (6cm only). Dunelm lists several of its super kings as 183cm wide, so expect a little overhang on a 180cm mattress. Shopping for a double from any brand? Our double mattress toppers comparison ranks the wider field.

Methodology

How we rate

This page ranks Dorma’s own toppers only, every model Dunelm sells under the label, so the question is which Dorma suits which bed rather than whether Dorma beats other brands. For that wider view, our Dunelm mattress toppers comparison also covers Dunelm’s own-label and Fogarty toppers.

Each topper is scored on comfort, support, temperature and value, weighted 30%, 25%, 15% and 30% in the overall score. Filling and depth drive comfort and support; care, guarantee and price per size feed the value score. These four criteria separated the range most.

  • Filling and depth. What the topper is made of and how many centimetres it adds decide how far it changes a firm mattress.
  • Care. Whether any part can go in a washing machine, since most Dorma toppers are spot or sponge clean only.
  • Guarantee and returns. Dunelm’s stated guarantee for each product and its sealed-only refund rule for toppers.
  • Price per size. Regular Dunelm prices for every size, with promotions noted separately.

Specifications, prices, stock and review averages come from each Dunelm product page, checked on 5 October 2026, and guarantees from Dunelm’s topper guarantee list and the product pages. Firmness labels are our own estimates from the construction, as Dunelm publishes none for these toppers. Where two toppers tie on overall score, the one with the higher value score ranks first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which Dorma mattress topper is the best?

The Dorma TENCEL Blend Memory Foam Mattress Topper is our pick, because its memory foam is the only filling in the range that moulds around shoulders and hips. If you would rather avoid foam, the Full Forever is the cheaper fibre alternative.

What is the Dorma TENCEL mattress topper made of?

It is CertiPUR-certified memory foam, 6.5cm or 10cm deep, in a quilted cover whose top side is 30% TENCEL lyocell and 70% polyester, with a polyester and cotton underside.

Is the Dorma Full Forever topper worth buying?

Yes, for a cheap and soft refresh. The Full Forever puts recycled spiral fibre in a 230 thread count cotton cover and costs £80 for a 3cm double. Choose the 6cm version for a firm mattress, since 3cm only takes the edge off.

Can you wash a Dorma mattress topper?

Only some of them. The Luxury Wool Reversible is machine washable in a high-capacity machine, and the Full Forever Dual and Hungarian Feather Dual have top layers you can wash at home; the other five are spot or sponge clean only.

Where can I buy Dorma mattress toppers?

Only at Dunelm, in its UK stores and on dunelm.com, because Dunelm has owned Dorma since 2008, according to the retailer.

Do Dorma mattress toppers come with a guarantee?

Two do. The TENCEL Blend carries 10 years and the Dream Dual Layer 2 years, while Dunelm states no guarantee for the other six.

Is there a Dorma mattress topper sale?

Dunelm discounts individual Dorma toppers rather than the whole range. When we checked on 5 October 2026, the Luxury Wool Reversible was half price in every size and the other seven were at their regular prices.

Can I return a Dorma topper if I do not like it?

Only if it is unused and still sealed in its original packaging, because Dunelm does not refund opened toppers on a change of mind and none of them comes with a sleep trial.
