Mammoth is a British mattress brand known for its own Medical Grade foam and for selling its mattresses on health grounds, with physiotherapists and professional sport as its main references. The Mammoth FAQ says all of its products are manufactured in the UK and that 100% of its raw materials are sourced through UK-based organisations; the mattresses are sold through stockists rather than a Mammoth web shop.

Ownership and who makes the mattresses

The brand’s original operating company, Mammoth Sit and Sleep Ltd, incorporated as Mammoth Sport Ltd on 27 May 2009, went into administration and was dissolved on 26 December 2025. Interior Daily reported that founder John Tuton restructured the business through a new company, Blue Dragon Assets, which the Mammoth website now names as its copyright holder. In November 2024 Furniture News reported that Bodyease, a Dewsbury bed maker, had taken the UK licence to manufacture Mammoth’s Comfort and Performance collections after Dura Beds withdrew from an earlier licence. Bodyease is a National Bed Federation member; Mammoth itself does not appear on the federation’s member list.

Guarantee and health claims, read closely

Mammoth’s FAQ gives a standard 1-year guarantee and extends it to 10 years when you register the mattress online, with free replacement for faults reported within five years and a pro-rata charge after that. Settlement is not normally treated as a fault: the FAQ cites Furniture Industry Research Association guidelines under which 2 to 4 cm of settlement is acceptable in a five-year-old mattress. The Mammoth homepage reports that its Medical Grade foam was tested at the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research and gives 46% more pressure relief and 69% faster cooling; these are Mammoth’s own figures and the page does not name the material they were compared with.

Who Mammoth is for

The Mammoth Performance Supersoft, a 27 cm foam mattress with 65 mm of soft comfort foam over 60 mm of Medical Grade foam, is ranked in our soft mattress comparison. Mammoth suits side sleepers who want a soft, UK-made foam mattress and prefer to buy after lying on it in a shop. It does not suit you if you want a home trial or a low price, since the Supersoft starts at £1,199 in a single, or if you would rather buy from a brand with a stable corporate history.
