Flaxby is a premium bed range handmade in Yorkshire by Harrison Spinks and sold in the UK only through Dreams, in its stores and at dreams.co.uk. The range covers pocket-sprung mattresses, divans, headboards and a quilted wool mattress enhancer.

Who makes Flaxby

According to the Flaxby brand page at Dreams, Flaxby beds start life on the Harrison Spinks farm in Yorkshire, where hemp and flax are grown and sheep graze, and every Flaxby mattress is made by hand in the Harrison Spinks factory in Yorkshire. Dreams describes Harrison Spinks as a fifth-generation bedmaker that grows, weaves and makes much of what it needs itself. The same page says Flaxby beds are free of glue, foam and flame-retardant chemical treatments, and that the mattresses are designed so their fillings and springs can be made into new mattresses at the end of their life.

Awards

Dreams states that Harrison Spinks won Bed of the Year at the 2020 National Bed Federation Awards for a foam-free, glue-free mattress that can be recycled, and that the company holds two King’s Awards for Enterprise alongside a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development.

Buying Flaxby at Dreams

Flaxby has no online shop of its own, so prices, delivery and returns are those of Dreams. Dreams mattresses, Flaxby included, come with the retailer’s 100-night comfort guarantee; bedding does not. The mattress range at Dreams (October 2026)

Most of each spring count is micro springs near the surface, which do the job a foam comfort layer does in cheaper mattresses. Flaxby mattresses carry a seven-year guarantee, and from 30 September 2026 Dreams took 30% off the whole collection without giving an end date.
