Sleepeezee Wool Luxe 2800 reviewed

The Sleepeezee Wool Luxe 2800 is a medium, double-sided pocket sprung mattress filled with British wool and cashmere and endorsed by the Campaign for Wool, with 2,800 springs in a king size. It is sold through retailers such as Mattress Online, where it costs £699 in a single and £949 in a double at the time of writing (September 2026), with a 10-year guarantee.

Construction and fillings

This is the middle model of Sleepeezee’s wool range, between the Wool Luxe 1200 and 3700. Sleepeezee’s product page lists a damask cover with a deep woollen tufted finish, a British wool and cashmere comfort layer, a polycotton comfort layer and a high-density support layer over the springs, framed by a calibre edge. The Platinum Wool label on the mattress is Sleepeezee’s mark for products made with 100% British wool. Mattress Online’s cut-away shows a tier of mini comfort springs above traditional pocket springs, with the same fillings repeated on the underside so the mattress can be turned.

Temperature, firmness and who it suits

Sleepeezee rates the Wool Luxe 2800 medium, which we place at 5 out of 10. Wool is the reason to buy it. The Campaign for Wool, launched in 2010 and convened by King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales, promotes wool as natural, renewable and biodegradable, and Mattress Online adds side air vents to help heat and moisture escape. Warm sleepers, people who dislike the feel of foam and anyone who wants a traditional, turnable mattress are the natural audience. The calibre edge also makes it easier to sit on the side of the bed.

Care, depth and the catch

Double-sided mattresses last longer only if you turn them, and the weights above are the obstacle: 73 kg for a king and 87 kg for a super king is a two-person job every time. With the National Bed Federation putting the average UK replacement cycle at seven to eight years, the turning routine is what lets a filled mattress like this reach that span without dips.

Check the depth before buying bedding. Sleepeezee’s dimension table gives 36 cm, while Mattress Online lists 29 cm, so allow for the deeper figure when choosing fitted sheets. Mattress Online also offers a 100-night Comfort Trial, but it is an exchange rather than a refund, requires one of its mattress protectors and a 30-night minimum.
