Dormeo Octasmart Deluxe Mattress Topper reviewed

The Dormeo Octasmart Deluxe Mattress Topper is a 7cm medium-soft topper that wraps a core of memory foam Octaspring springs in memory foam layers above and below. Its regular price is £539 for a UK double, but at the time of writing (28 September 2026) Dormeo was selling it at half price, £249 for a single and £269 for a double. Dormeo’s reviews average 4.0 out of 5 from 465 buyers.

What makes it the Deluxe

According to the Octasmart Deluxe topper page on dormeo.co.uk, the springs themselves are made of memory foam here, where the Plus and standard Octasmart toppers use conventional Octasprings. With memory foam at both faces, it is the most cushioned topper in the Octasmart collection.

Who it suits

We score the Deluxe 4 out of 10 for firmness. It is aimed at side sleepers on a mattress that feels too hard at the shoulder and hip, which is the job Bed Advice UK, the consumer site of the National Bed Federation, describes for a soft topper in its topper guide: adding cushioning and pressure relief. The same guide recommends at least 5cm of depth for a noticeable change, and warns that a topper cannot rescue a mattress with deep dips.

Memory foam can run warm, and Dormeo’s answer is the Octavent air system of hollow springs and a pocketed cover. Heat is a sleep problem rather than just a comfort one: a 2012 review by Okamoto-Mizuno and Mizuno found heat exposure increases wakefulness and reduces deep and REM sleep. Dormeo says the topper is 100% recyclable, and its awards page lists a Good Homes Approved award for it in 2022.

Dormeo says the topper, like the rest of the Octasmart topper range, is rated for up to 22 stone per side. It arrives rolled, needs up to 24 hours to recover fully and has to be unpacked within 30 days of delivery to keep the trial and warranty valid.

Trial and warranty

The Deluxe topper is covered by Dormeo’s 200-night trial. The Octasmart topper warranty covers the core for eight years and the removable cover for one, but only the first two years are full cover; from year three you pay a rising share of a replacement, 45% in the fourth year.
